This is a very common snack or dessert in Hong Kong. It is made from very simple ingredients, and has a chewy texture.

Ingredient and Portion
Glutinous rice powder 300g
warm water 300ml
crushed roasted peanuts 100g
sugar 75g

yellow slab sugar 100g
water 120 ml
Method
Melt the slab sugar in half a cup of water.
Add warm water to glutinous rice powder, and mix into a soft dough. Divide into smaller portions,then shape into small round balls. Bring a pot of water to the boil and add in the small pieces of dough. Cook until it floats, then drain from water and let cook in the syrup for 1 minute and take out, draining excess syrup.
Place on plate, and sprinkle crushed peanuts and sugar on top and serve warm.
Tips
This dessert should be served warm as the glutinous balls will stick together when cooled.
