2 weeks later after my last visit to 2/3 Dolci….I’m here again on Friday afternoon to try out their gelato & patisseries. Notice any differences from 2 weeks ago?! Obviously their signature 83% chocolate & pistachio gelato are still there. But lavender, raspberry & peach, apricot gelato were gone! Instead they now have guava, chocolate chip, strawberry gelato. According to the staff, they usually change the flavor around once a week..or may be 2 weeks, depends on how fast the gelato sold out.If
The gelato at 2/3 Dolci is also less fat & fewer calories than normal ice-cream! Why?! According to the staff, their gelato was made using the “Slow Churning” method.
Normal ice-cream need to frozen constantly, which creates ice crystals. That’s why lots of milk fat is added to make a smoother & creamier ice-cream.
On the other hand, slow churning is a process of low-temperature extrusion, which require less freezing. So, this method can eliminates lots of milk fat & sugar in the ice-cream.
I didn’t try out their patisseries last time. So, there is no way I’m going to miss out this time. Lots of good reviews on the internet is almost about this tart. It’s called 100% because this tart is made from 100% pistachio paste. Any dessert using the real ingredient is ALWAYS better & thousands time tastier!! The pistachio cream was pipped beautifully on top. It’s really strong in pistachio flavor, but not overly sweet. The nuttiness of the pistachio popped out & consistent through their gelato to this tart. The tart base was crunchy & there was a coat of chocolate inside! Surprise! There was a layer of caramel cream in between to company the pistachio cream.
This pistachio tart is definitely a MUST-TRY if you go there!!! Originally the staff recommended us to try out their signature 8-layer guava cake, but we already ate the gelato in guava flavor. So, we tried out something else: Lychee & rose cake.
It’s such a cute little velvet red dome!!!!! Both lychee & rose flavor stand out, but it didn’t overpower the other. However, it’s just a bit on the sweet side for me.
Except ice-cream, patisseries & coffee are available at 2/3 Dolci, they are now promoting the new chocolate mooncake at the moment. Chinese mid-autumn festival is on the way! The mooncakes from 2/3 Dolci isn’t the traditional version with the egg-yolks. It’s 85% dark chocolate cookie mooncake. People like me who doesn’t really fancy the traditional type of mooncake may probably find 2/3 Dolci’s mooncake really suitable for them!
It's recommend everyone to try mircrowave the mooncake for around 10-15 secs to let the dark chocolate chips inside to melt a bit. It's so much more tastier in this way!
Looking forward to go there again to try out their new Caramello Series!!! Their staffs are really nice & accommodated as well!
