I should really regret booking this place for my best friend's birthday albeit all the alarming comments here!! I booked a table for 7, the guy on the phone was nice and helpful - guess he must be the manager since he seems like the only friendly being in the restaurant! The view of CRU, to be honest, is really impressive. The open window on the first floor provides a good backdrop for chit-chat and laughter. But the U-shaped table, I have to say, is way too little for 7 people. Guess only 5 pax could sit there wit comfort. And it was really, really inconvenient for anyone to be excused since it just has to disturb the rest of us. So if you want a comfortable table for more than 5 pax, make sure it's not the U-shaped one upstairs.We ordered one starter and seven main courses at 8:35, and we just realised it had taken a long time at 9:20. We asked a waiter, who said since we have seven main courses it would take a longer time. His attitude is okay, tho we didn't think it's an acceptable explanation.Later we urged another waitress, who was simply hostile! She said we have TOO MANY main courses and THEY WERE REALLY BUSY. Without any further friendly words she immediately suggested us talking to the manager. But the manager turns to be a really nice and friendly one, who made the dinner less of a disaster. Yet to be objective, CRU's food is really great. They have good chefs - not too many since it took an hour to prepare - and the proportion is really huge!! I had a lamb shank, which is well-cooked, DELICIOUS. The dessert menu is not particularly diverse and outstanding, all served at HKD$50. But the proportion, again, is huge! It's not bad to give a try since this price in SOHO is a competitive one.The wine list is not as bad as aforementioned. Quite the contrary they have 2 pages for drinks. The price range doesn't seem unreasonably expensive. We had a Riesling this night, which was good.If you are generous with service quality, CRU can be a good place.

I went to Cru for a few times, the food is good, I love it, even I know they have very bad manner!In August 09 I arranged a birthday dinner for my husband there, on the phone, the guy in-charge promised not to charge for the cake I made specially for the occasion. However, when I bought the cake there, the manager said, " This is Friday, every restaurants in Soho charge on cakes, we charge at $15/person. I don't know who promise you that he will waive you the charges, we are doing business, not charity!" What a wonderful speech, so I put down $100 for the cake, and he throw it back to me. This is my first experience! Amazing!!!As its almost the time for the dinner, I can't change to another place...I have to enjoy the nite as I should be...well, food is good so this is just a small thing to me. Last night 9 Oct 2009, I went again with my friends, I arrived around 7:45pm and the table were booked at 7:30. Friends were talking happily and we were having fun, around 5 mins later, the waitress come over and said, your table need to be return by 9:30pm, I am sure our manager has told you about it. Please decide what you want to order now!I told her we need a few minutes, and she said, you better hurry up cos you need to return the table to us at 9:30!Finally we ordered at about 8pm, food arrived within 10 mins. Nice food, but they keep coming to push us eat faster...Amazing!I love the food, the chef is obviously a good cook! I really hope they can change their management, this is really very very rude!I just hope they can respect their guest as they deserved, We are their customers, and this is just a basic thing in service industry!

This is my 2nd time to have dinner at Cru. We waited at the bar for our table although we made our reservation. The table is definitely small for a group of 8. Apart from that, we did have a great time. They have lots of choice on the menu. Most of us are happy with the food. The atmosphere is casual. It is a good place for group of friends/ family eating, drinking and chatting. People working there are nice though they are always busy. It was a happy experience.

Been here a few times already, the food is good, with very fresh ingredients and nice cooking style. I like how it is away from the busiest spot in SOHO but within walking distance.The food is good and in BIG PORTION. This night I orderedThe sesame tune as appetizer and a mango avacado salad (we shared these two). My friend ordered 10oz steak and I ordered a seafood pasta. I could only finished 1/2 of my pasta and my friend could only do 3/4 of the steak. We wanted to finish it because it's so good but we couldnt!!The service is not as bad as previous comments, but I must say the waitresses need to smile more. Have to mention the wine list too...the wine list they have is really....small, and not much good wine to choose from. Very expensive as well, the same bottle I could get from wine store at $115, costs close to $400 there.Didn't ask how much is a corkage, but next time I will bring my own wine there...

已經黎過呢到第5次, 我的經驗是無訂台真係無得食(evening). 我感覺佢地的態度都ok既, 不過因為chinese不太order drinks所以佢地會中意serve外國人多d. 始終酒水才是佢地最大既收入來源.佢地的salad真係無得彈, mango好sweet, 蝦都係爽, 不過d汁係比較spicy d.我食過佢地既蜆肉意粉, 好al dente 好多蜆, 哈哈可能無下味精吧, 味道是比較單調. 加小小pepper好食好多.pumpkin soup好creamy, 佢地咩野既portion都好大, 叫佢地同我地分個soup做2分, 佢地無都黑面.朋友叫了steak, 佢說好tender 及juicy, 我就唔食牛, 只係食佢既side dishes. d青豆, 薯榕好好食drinks就普通啦, 因為我同朋友都係叫juice. 因為分量真係唔細, 所以大家可以share d野食, 唔好好似我甘, 次次見到個menu都失控, 叫得太多2個人都食唔曬.
