Came here for dinner with my wife just before xmas. The place has a nice ambiance with a relaxed atmosphere. They also have happy hour drinks which would be great at the bar with high chairs or outside on the terrace with views of the harbour. We decided on a table inside as it looked rather cold outside on that day. We were given menus which had a nice leather-bound look and ordered. My wife had a perfectly poached egg benedict with a runny yolk and a rich hollandaise sauce. I ordered the fish
We were given menus which had a nice leather-bound look and ordered. My wife had a perfectly poached egg benedict with a runny yolk and a rich hollandaise sauce. I ordered the fish & chips and was impressed, fresh cod with just the right amount of batter served with chunky style chips.
For dessert we ordered the classic Eton mess which with its fresh strawberries and crunchy meringue was delicious. We also ordered the flaming brownie which was the star dish of the evening. The dish arrives as two parts, the ice cream with the brownie and the rum in a glass. The waiter then sets the rum alight and pours it over the brownie (see pic). It was a delight to watch! The brownie itself was crispy on the outside and moist and rich on the inside.
I will be back for more!
