Family is visiting me today so we stopped by this restaurant for a quick breakfast. This Cha Chan Tan is a very local HK style serving good food with good price and good size. There are a lot of beef cubes with just the right amount of chilli oil, the rice noodle is also cooked right in plain soup base otherwise the whole is going to be too salty.

Fried chicken fillet rice noodles
I forgot to ask them to serve the chicken fillet on the side so they just put the whole crispy piece in the soup!

You can probably tell by the size of the chicken thigh cutlet, besides, it was also fried until very tender and moist. The rice noodle was also served in plain soup which I preferred over any savory soup based.

The breakfast set also comes with your desired choices of sides and we have picked bacon, scrambled eggs, and thick toast because we are 厚多士. The toast has been buttered and toasted nicely until golden brown, egg is still a bit runny in centre, and the bacon is not too fatty.
Overall, everything is just right. It brings me back to the old time in Hong Kong, when everything was right, no cutting, no cheating. Use real ingredients, solid food and flavour! That's why I am always coming here.

大熱天時,又唔想煮飯,又想食小菜,最好不過就係去菜餐廳或小廚,解決晚飯。桂花蜜桃骨,味道酸甜,啖啖肉,外脆內軟,配料有菠蘿、青椒、蜜桃、洋蔥,加上清香桂花,增加胃口,系夏天最佳小菜之一。招牌蠔仔烙,這個小菜,我地必選之一,是即叫即做,很脆口,蠔仔也新鮮,點上魚露或豆瓣醬,係好餸飯。唔鍾意吃飯,可以叫碗粥,大大碗,粥底綿綿,粥配料又多,好好味!檸檬茶,檸檬水,是這間餐廳出名,夠大杯,茶唔會澀,無論什麼天氣,都是我不可缺少的飲品。

今朝一早去左坑口做野,做完野梗係要醫下個肚仔, 去左一間街坊茶餐廳食早餐,叫左個五香肉丁出前一丁+芝士腸太陽蛋+厚多士+凍奶茶成為34個大洋,性價比合理都算底啦佢地d肉丁都吾錯,感覺新鮮,有辣味。芝士腸同太陽蛋都煎得幾靚,過呢d出前一丁就吾似出前一丁,好鬼淋似大光面,厚多士吾似多士,吾脆嘅,可能呢區無乜茶餐廳,同埋佢價錢平,所以都吾少街坊幫襯。

另一款菜式咸菜涼瓜浸排骨則稍為遜色。原因並非本人不愛吃涼瓜,涼瓜味苦是意料中事,可是這次吃到的涼瓜的確苦得有點過份,而且也煮得不夠火喉,每塊涼瓜都是硬硬的。至於咸菜也好不了多少,咸的程度也是過火了,故此吃這道菜差點令味蕾不勝負荷。排骨是可以的,但總覺浸在湯裏有點不倫不類,不香也不鮮味。還是吃回那味一千零一道潮州菜----蠔餅好了。

本來想試在此處附近的一所新串燒店,怎知道沒有開門營業,故此就走過來鄰店的美食坊,其實即是一所茶記來攪掂餐晏,推門入內,真的是很多很多人呢,見有不少都是工友來的,一睇就知此店是區內平易近人之選。既然是多人,搭枱是難免的了,都是快吃快走好了,看見午餐的餐牌,都是包例湯及飲品的客飯套餐,最後在七個選擇之中選了梅菜炆腩仔,之後很快就已經有個例湯喝,是西洋菜煲豬骨,湯喝起來是有丁點西洋菜的甜,但以其湯的顏色及濃度來看,其菜味及豬肉味都很是薄弱,但個湯偏偏又幾夠味,相信是放了不少師傅。之後就是一個大大碟的白飯加一大碟的梅菜炆腩仔,梅菜及腩仔以南乳炆過,其實觀其腩仔及梅菜的顏色,是炆得很是入味的,可是吃起來就鹹味夠而南乳香不足,看來都是先天不足的問題,就是那南乳不是靚貨,這也是成本的問題吧,腩肉瘦的部份雖說不上梅腍,但至少不嚡口及韌,肥肉更是有油香豐腴的感覺,而梅菜榨水榨得足,吃入口沒有死鹹死甜的情況,配點白飯吃,都算很好下飯。最後又是嘆茶的時間,奶茶只用上金屬杯盛着,可是茶身卻仍是頗熱,要比不少用上厚身瓷杯的茶記都要熱,之後慣怛的用鼻子先嗅一嗅,又有不俗的奶香,而茶香就薄了點,但請注意,至少是有茶

Today, just try this restaurant when travel there.....We tried 2 afternoon tea sets, Pork chop burger and Fish burger with coffee.Both burgers are quite large and tasty. Moreover, their coffee (hot & iced) is quite good as well (strong type and smooth). The bill is just $38, I really can't give any negative comment. I will definitely go there to have meals whenever I travel there again !Ps. those waitress are quite friendly too.

呢間野開檔幫襯到而家。日頭其實係同普通茶餐廳無兩樣,有粥同腸粉果的,水準麻麻,無正記咁掂。午餐多選擇,特別多地盤裝修佬幫襯。晚餐小菜非常普通,唯獨一樣野令小弟再三幫襯,就係佢地既蠔烙,夠正宗,做得好。好多人唔明白正宗蠔烙係點,心目中可能係蠔仔煎蛋,蠔仔薄撐,或者好似阿蘇帶人去離島個阿伯煮果的咁。其實通通都唔係果回事。烙,潮州人來講一定係炸既(唔係煎,亦唔係半煎炸),所以會有好多脆粉係周圍。係要蛋,不過更要粉,重有蔥同胡焦粉,咁外圍係好多爽脆既粉,但係近中間就會軟的厚的,多蔥多蠔。炸呢,係炸到深啡既。食既時候呢,重要有大量芫茜,重有專用辣醬,咁先係路數。潮州冷美食坊既蠔烙正宗,好食,足料,夠份量,抵食,味道好,而家唔係好多地方做倒。舊底廟街果的做法正宗,不過料就少得神奇。而家潮州冷美食坊仲有得食,真幸福!

好多人唔明白正宗蠔烙係點,心目中可能係蠔仔煎蛋,蠔仔薄撐,或者好似阿蘇帶人去離島個阿伯煮果的咁。其實通通都唔係果回事。

烙,潮州人來講一定係炸既(唔係煎,亦唔係半煎炸),所以會有好多脆粉係周圍。係要蛋,不過更要粉,重有蔥同胡焦粉,咁外圍係好多爽脆既粉,但係近中間就會軟的厚的,多蔥多蠔。炸呢,係炸到深啡既。食既時候呢,重要有大量芫茜,重有專用辣醬,咁先係路數。

潮州冷美食坊既蠔烙正宗,好食,足料,夠份量,抵食,味道好,而家唔係好多地方做倒。舊底廟街果的做法正宗,不過料就少得神奇。而家潮州冷美食坊仲有得食,真幸福!

我們昨日到潮州冷美食坊食晚餐:個蠔餅好大碟:雖然炸粉是多了點,蠔是細細隻的但份量一D都唔少,而且唔腥,曬左少少胡椒粉後更加好味,可以一試又點左西檸雞:雞肉唔算嫩滑,炸得有少少硬,西檸汁味道還可以連粥及送上兩碗例湯 (碗湯就.....)
