小妹揀了白酒羅馬式豬扒配薯菜$148,除此主菜外,可任食沙律吧和餐湯,還包餐飲或甜品。嗜甜的小妹,當然揀後者啦﹗


主菜有兩塊肥肉偏多的香煎豬扒,豬扒上黏著一小塊鹹鹹的東西,豬扒肉質不俗,也夠味,但吃時要除去肥肉先可品嚐,甚為麻煩,也頗油膩。
墊底的薯菜以切成疑似帶子狀的薯粒最為好味,也夠軟腍,與帶子質感頗似。

另一友人要了肉碎意粉$128,甫見到扁身的意粉濕淋淋的樣子,已知口感不甚討好也。試了一箸,意粉炒得夠濃香,奈何質感似中式伊麵般,毫無嚼勁彈牙之感可言,小妹不太喜歡也,幸友人可以接受也。

We came here to celebrate my birthday and we left with mixed feelings. 

We made a reservation and despite the fact that they were technically fully booked, it looked pretty quiet.  After being seated, we were handed menus.  We selected the DOP platter of meats with some burrata, the Assaggio salad, the orecchiette with sausage, baby broccoli and cheese and the cuttle fish ink risotto.  We also chose a carafe of Chianti.

After waving down one of the staff, we placed our order and set about the bread basket.  It was good and the breads were all decent.  The wine came and, despite looking a little brownish in its tint, was fine.  

The DOP cold cuts came and we couldn't have been happier.  It had speck, copa, bresaola, prosciutto, mortadella, salame felino, porchetta, salame di Napoli and soppressata.  All of the cuts were great and with the creamy burrata, it was pretty much the perfect platter.  It had a small salad in the middle, a couple of massive green olives, pickles and a tapenade.  Worth every dollar ($218 + $78 for burrata).

The house salad was a huge disappointment.  For $88, we basically got a few leaves, some tiny cut up pieces of mozzarella, tomatoes, four pieces of salame and the goats cheese was a total joke.  The piece of cheese was the size of my little finger nail and may as well not have been there.  The salad was very bad value and we regretted getting it.  

The pasta was also pretty disappointing.  It was a little under al dente and really, it was the kind of thing you could make at home way better.  The ingredients didn't seem top drawer and really, it was not an accomplished dish.  For $118, it should have been great.

The risotto was a different story.  While the rice was a little under like the pasta, the taste of the sepia (ink) was lovely and the dish was pretty good.  While there could have been a little more cuttlefish on top, it was decent and I would order it again.  At $138, it wasn't cheap, but it was a lot better value than the pasta.

The service was a little distracted and inattentive, but polite once they noticed us.

I would say that the value is not that great and that the dishes lacked a final bit of skill to make them really sing.  The execution was a little off based on the cooking of the pasta and rice.  The DOP platter was great, but it just highlighted that they were very good, so long as they didn't have to cook.  They were very good at cutting meat.

意大利前菜當然少不了的就是這些cold-cut的選擇, 餐廳所供應的種類不算多, 小辣肉腸, Parma Ham, 其他風腿等。辣肉腸口感略硬, 但辣味惹味, 只是覺得有點鹹。Parma Ham軟滑而薄, 鹹香而不嗆。

風腿有兩款: 鹹一點的是Parma Ham, 油脂較多, 口感薄但韌一點。淡點的風腿, 口感薄而滑, 瘦肉較多, 但片得薄一點感覺都不錯。肉腸片從味道到質感最好, 薄滑香而有彈性。

而我的主菜是個素菜意粉, 香草蕃茄意粉, 甚有夏天的感覺。大號粗條一點的意粉, 圓圓的車厘茄, 加上大量的香草青醬, 再在表面灑上芝士粉及松子。味道平衡清淡, 感覺涼快, 松子脆口惹味, 芝士提升口感。雖說意粉粗條如發脹般, 但是意粉彈性與韌性都很強, 整體效果不錯。

Antipasti Bar 有幾款適合配襯沙律的食材,如粟米、雜菌、雞心豆和意大利人喜歡的橄欖等,在嚐主菜前為自己做了一份美味的沙律。

配上檸檬汁與橄欖油的沙律汁,為沙律添上清新的味兒。沙律菜尚算新鮮,粟米和雞心豆應是購自即食食材,質感過於軟腍,反而爽彈的雜菌帶著微微的酸味兒,感覺挺開胃的!

吃過主菜,反過來再嚐 Antipasti,那時的 Antipasti Bar 變得清靜多了!

Speck Ham 鹹度適中,帶著幽幽的脂香,採選的質量不錯。哈蜜瓜爽甜多汁、潤澤的水感與甜美將 Speck Ham 的鹹香輕輕扣出,怪不得兩者是不可分割的最佳拍檔。

「KS」很喜歡這哈蜜瓜,還當作水果般嚐了不少!

以「Assaggio」選擇多樣化的午餐來說,收費並不昂貴,因而食味未有太大驚喜,但以水準與價格比較,兩者取得不錯的平衡,所以受大眾歡迎是有其道理。

意大利語的「Assaggio」是味道的意思,我較欣賞在安靜的環境下,所帶出「Assaggio」一種寫意的「味道」!

令人食指大動的是這份意式烤豬扒, 初時睇menu, 見到豬扒, 以為係薄身那種, 上枱一刻見到係咁樣, 再加上多汁、肉質夠嫩, 唔需要沾任何sauce已經好好味. 我比10個推介呢件豬扒~

第一次嚟試,與朋友慶祝生日,知道呢度booking好full,所以一早book定位。6點左右嚟到,預約時已說明若坐餐廳入面(因商場外面也有數張枱)用餐時間為1小時45分鐘,若坐外面可有兩個半鐘。但我亦選擇了前者。(外面位置近扶手電梯,好像不是太理想。)餐廳內嘅環境不錯,但洗手間與商場共用,不是太方便,好在也不是太遠!點餐後已送上免費的麵包。麵包有3款,除薄脆正常外,其餘2款都内外偏硬,真的麻麻!招牌沙律蔬菜新鮮,配上風乾的肉腸、蕃茄仔、水牛芝士等,味道不錯!牛肝菌意大利飯這個賣相不是太討好,但味道都ok,濕濕地,但又不似意大利飯般lim。Pizza(唔記得名)有辣肉腸、芝士等材料,餅底夠乾,又多料,正~
