a decent western-chinese fusion restaurant that serves great cocktails! special shoutout must go to 'childhood memory', which is a cocktail made of spiced rum, baileys and vita soy☺️ it's not overly sweet and they all match really well with each other :3as for mains, i would say chasiu burger is pretty delicious but don't expect it to taste like cha siu at all as they have added quite a lot of herbs to the 'chasiu' patty which makes it taste nth like actual chasiu:/ soft shell crab burger is wort

i would highly recommend trying their mapo tofu fries as well - a generous amount of cheese blanketing mapo tofu on top of 'mcdonald's style' fries 🍟 the flavours are rich but it was a bit too salty and heavy. it would be perfect if the fries were thicker as the skinny fries all got a bit soggy.. ☹️
best to share among 4-5;)

經朋友介紹,話呢度唔單止cocktail特別,連野食都非常出色,咁我地就搵日friday night黎試試佢。雖然有唔少cocktail可供選擇,但我地一行6人,有4個都喺云云飲品之中,揀左Childhood memory。淨係望到個樽都覺得吸引,其實佢係Baileys溝維他奶麥精,超級好飲,兩隻味好夾,甜甜地,女仔會覺得好易入口另外,我地叫左個麻婆豆腐薯條,多多肉碎,少少豆腐,少少辣,薯條夠熱,似係啱啱炸起,感覺新穎,未見過咁嘅配搭,唔錯!

叫了簡單的炸鮮奶是最不過,沒有想過咁西式的地方也吃到出色以北海道奶為主的炸鮮奶,吃到K小姐笑容顏開,他覺得已經非常滿足了。

大家也意猶未盡下,點來一個秘製叉燒蛋飯漢堡,固名思義是一個由米飯做出來的漢堡,餡料則用上叉燒及蛋,難道又是另一個黯然銷魂飯,絕對不是。那塊漢堡扒絕對不是一塊普通的叉燒,而是用上同樣調味做成的豬柳漢堡,入口豐富多汁,配合焦糖洋蔥、火箭菜及煎蛋,味道可一不可再,確是吸引。雖則如此,但精髓卻是那兩塊包皮,除了白飯外,還加入了其他元素突出了味道,真是非常好吃,非試不可的一道。

甜品時間永遠也是女士們的一大喜訊,一口氣來了洛神花山楂芝士餅綠茶紅豆心太軟鴛鴦奶凍楊枝甘露。小弟胃口有限,每款只嚐了少許,不過對那碗楊枝甘露印象深刻,皆因它絕對不是一碗糖水,而是一杯Cocktail,加入了相當的酒精,不過味道卻是不錯的。

Stir-fried Linguine Laksa.喇沙炒意粉($168)還以為是最常吃到的放湯的喇沙,卻原來是輕炒拌以乾撈的做法。最欣賞的是那粗壯彈牙的意麵麵身,帶濃重的東南亞香料氣息,吃着吃着辣意就從底藴滲透出來了。不能説是忠於原著的星洲喇沙,至少椰奶的存在感是近乎零,但帶來不一様的味覺刺激,這味道讓人難忘。

另一道我更加喜歡的混合菜式,是「喇沙炒扁意粉」($168)。馬來喇沙一向是我喜歡之物,這兒把傳統的喇沙湯河一改烹調的手法,並以扁意粉作為食材,加入虎蝦、豆卜、豆芽、青瓜等配料,以喇沙醬混以椰奶快炒,炒得既香且辣,對我來說適中的辣度既帶來刺激感,但又不會辣得令人吃不消,讓我不禁一吃再吃。

這兒的雞尾酒也是非常有特色的,名字固然充滿玩味,包裝與味道亦同樣吸引。就以我喝的 Childhood Memory為例,以維他奶樽裝載,外觀幾可亂真,飲品的顏色根本與麥精維他奶無異,但骨子裡的成份除了麥精維他奶外,還有 Bailey's 和 Spiced Rum,匠心獨運的包裝,討好而易入喉的味道,讓人一試難忘,也是呃 like之選。同行友人的雞尾酒,也各有特色,不讓我的 Childhood Memory專美。

Bao Bei的入口在雲咸街, 先要沿長長的樓梯走下。店子是在地牢嗎, 卻不, 店內不乏大窗, 景色是絕對港式的樓境、搭一點綠意, 與店內的港式懷舊裝潢相互呼應, 極有意思。似地牢非地牢, 若不是香港多山陡斜, 也不容易找得到這樣盞鬼的地點呢。

Bao Bei即是國語之中「寶貝」的拼音。不知道若是携女友同來然後情深款款地說此店於你同名, 又會不會有分加呢? 這一招雖然有點老土不過在懷舊的店子內進行, 感覺卻是不會突兀的。

Peking Duck Udon Pizza $138 +10%
店子充滿了中西合壁的風情, 食物自然也不意外地是新派的。就算是一個薄餅也令人驚訝不已。以日式的烏冬做成麵餅, 炸透, 放上蔥絲鴨子肉和芝士, 好玩又好吃。本來一個想錯了以為是用厚而圓身的烏冬, 心想也挺不易成形吧? 卻是用了似伊麵狀的薄身烏冬。炸過的麵餅又幾分似潮式的雙麵黃, 但更脆更香。醬汁微甜,頗有北京填鴨醬之風。

芝士焗薯條吃得多, 把肉醬變成麻婆豆腐, 又意外的好吃。最要緊是有一點點的辣, 香口。如果薯條可以再切粗一點口感會更好。最令人驚訝的是卡邦尼年糕。第一印象是有點亂七八糟, 不過一入口, 嘩, 真係好香的卡邦尼汁! 果然是有點真功夫才敢作出創新的嚐試。一般來說我都覺得卡邦尼汁是很膩口的, 不太愛吃; 但此間的味道很適中, 加上糯糯的年糕, 竟是不能自己地連吃了三件。

炒菜吃得多, brussel sprouts也是常吃, 不過炒brussel sprouts卻是第一次。臘肉的香味輕輕遮去菜青味, 又甜又多汁, 個人來說是非常喜愛的呢。

這一個呢, 是向叫化雞/鹽焗雞致敬的菜式嗎, 不過比起前者可以說是更進一步: 外層所包著的乃是菠蘿包, 可以吃, 比泥和鹽要強多啦。咖哩的味道未算很香, 若是可以加強一下, 做到「一切開就香氣四溢」的狀態, 相信會更加吸引人吧。

Stir-fried Linguine Laksa $168 +10%
以冬蔭公或是叻沙來做意粉不算是新鮮事, 不過出來的效果可以很不同。眼前這一碗是我吃過最乾身的版本, 雖然口感欠一點滑度, 但香味卻更加明顯了。辣度比較霸度, 雖然未至於不可以接受的程度, 但就不夠「叻沙」。如果愛吃重口味的話, 應該會很中意這一個菜式的。

Bao Bei的菜色都是中西合壁的, 看著熟悉的食材、耳熟能詳的菜譜被巧手變化, 更令人慢慢期待起下一個揣上來的菜式。這一個卷意粉是這一晚最平實的一道菜, 但味道一點都不含糊。極濃郁的蘑菇香味, 真材實料; 味噌略帶甜味, 更襯托得出蘑菇的鮮呢。

煲仔飯吃得多、韓國石頭飯也不陌生。兩者結合而成的韓式牛肉煲仔飯先是為大家帶來視覺的衝擊、然後是味覺得享受。個人超中意他們用的牛肉, 不是乾乾的薄牛肉片, 而是厚切的牛柳。烹調至medium rare, 又香又柔軟, 真的好滋味。

來Bao bei 有兩大重點, 一是各式各樣的雞尾酒, 二是不同種類的包包。之前餐廳會更加著重不同的包包, 最近方針有變, 菜單上的變化多了, 相信可以吸引更多不同的客人吧。不過即使如此, 也不要錯過它們的包子類呢。今天我們就吃了「叉燒蛋米漢堡包」, 那一個米漢堡呢, 真的令我驚為天人。外層輕輕炸脆了, 卻不油膩, 口感煙韌可口, 而且調過味, 單吃都非常的美味!

Deep Fried Milk Pudding $78 +10%
不可或缺的甜品環節之中, 我最中意的是炸鮮奶。雖然主菜已經吃得太多, 再吃炸鮮奶感覺太過heavy, 但還是覺得非常香口。綠茶心太軟、洛神花芝士蛋糕也做得很不錯, 但比起有趣又好吃的主菜, 甜品這一組是有點失色了。

Beer Battered Tiger Prawns in Wonton Shrimp -作為頭盤小食,這賣相相當吸引,雲吞脆皮包著蝦,配上甜鮮醬,非常開胃。碟內放滿了雲吞脆皮的碎碎作小食,炸得薄又香脆。在外面其他餐廳很少見到有這類的菜式,令我印象深刻。

如果想跟朋友把酒談天,就必定要試試Bao Bei的特色cocktail。像這杯Childhood Memory就是由維他奶、Baileys、Rum混合的,有著Creamy、甜甜的口感,不過喝起來Bailey的味道較為濃烈。好久沒有看過這種玻璃樽裝的維他奶,就像以前的回憶也通通回來!

而右邊的是Yakult Booster,以益力多與燒酒混合的Cocktail。如果是要來喝的話份量實在太少了,不過「醉翁之意不在酒」,點來拍個照、嚐嚐味道又何妨!我喜歡它燒酒的味道不濃烈,同時又也不會把益力多的味道蓋過。還附上一串櫻桃來吊吊味。

總是説著不要點太多甜品,但我們還是可以把甜品一一KO! 這個Yin-Yang Panna Cotta 下層是咖啡啫喱粒,上層是鴛鴦奶茶布甸,在日常的茶餐廳飲品加點新意,把鴛鴦以甜品形式呈現出來。這些咖啡啫喱粒味道不太甜,在這季節吃到這款甜品真是清涼了!

還有Green Tea Molten Red Bean Cake,他們的Green Tea心太軟有著濃濃的抹茶味道,喜愛抹茶的朋友絕對不能錯過。 喝酒前要吃點東西,下次來Bao Bei不要只為了喝酒,來嚐嚐他們的晚餐和甜品,還是有很多好吃的菜式呢!

I don't like carbonara but I found myself eating another piece after another because sauce was cheesy with pieces of parma ham and the texture of these rice cakes were soft which make them more palatable.

I have to admit I am not a pineapple bun fan, but it turned out to be my cup of tea because it was a pie with a chicken inside it.
