The portion of 3 no. of crab cakes was quite good and there was plenty of crab meat inside them. The crab cakes were nicely fried on the outside giving a nice crispy coating wrapping the delicate crab meat inside. They went well with the tartar and mayo sauce that were offered with the dish.

The lobster bisque was creamy and had a strong lobster flavour with some big chunks of lobster tail meat inside the soup. It was hearty and generous portion.

Wild mushroom risotto ($298), the risotto was creamy and fluid without being too thick, the mushrooms gave it an earthy taste and the shaved flakes of Parmesan cheese sharpened the dish with a nutty flavour.

The US 🇺🇸 Ribeye Steak 🥩 ($880) - We ordered a medium cook and it came out perfect. Tender and juicy with a rich beef flavour. The marbling of fat on the steak was balanced to ensure maximum taste whilst needing very little fat. There was also a perfect sear on the outside of the steak which gave it a subtle char grilled taste. We chose a black pepper sauce.

The US 🇺🇸 Sirloin Steak 🥩 ($880) - We ordered medium cook despite the sirloin being a leaner steak and it was still tender and juicy, but less intense flavour as the rib eye. Having said that, it was a good contrast to the rib eye and the beef flavour was exceptional. We chose the béarnaise sauce for the sirloin.

We chose two sides for the steaks which were sweet potato fries ($98) and mashed potatoes ($98). The sweet potato fries were crispy and fluffy and moist inside whilst the mash potato was smooth, silky and creamy and great side dishes for our steaks.

Next was dessert where we could make 3 x selections of our choice for $128. We chose the New York Cheese Cake, Tiramisu and a Mille-feuille. The cheese cake was the best among them, followed by the tiramisu and then the Mille-grille, which had a crispy puff pastry.

這一間位於尖沙咀朗廷酒店的 Bostonian Seafood & Grill, 我曾於約二十年前吃過,不過整體回憶已忘記得一乾二淨了。今天和家人再去食,並未能勾起過往的回憶。今次沒有試他們的 Seafood Tower,反而試了 Cooked Fresh Mussels with Brandy、Wild Mushroom Soup、 U.S. Prime Beef Sirloin 和 Austrailian Lamb Chops。食物方面就是平平無奇,口味也很本地化,完全感受不到什麼特色。不過價錢方面有點偏貴,我寧願多花些少金錢去食 fine dining,至少那些食物在設計和製作上都花多一點心思。環境方面,由於座位都比較疏落,加上顧客不多,感覺較清靜。職員方面人數充足,並且很慇懃,也能照顧到我們的需要,例如對某些食物敏感,他們也能從善處理。整體來說,如果要一個舒適用餐體驗,這裡會不錯。

After indulging myself with the cooking reality show recently aired on Netflix hosted at The Langham in London, I decided to pay a visit at this hotel to experience the legendary food and 5-star service as promised on the reality show. To be fair, the price of a standard 3-course set lunch at $298 is considered mid-range only compared to other newly opened five-star hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui. Nonetheless, this price was within the same range of a 30-pound set lunch sold at The Langham in London, which was an even more expensive piece of real estate at the heart of London. I had high expectations for the same five-star standards at the chain’s restaurant in Hong Kong. Yet, the head chef at this very service committed the very mistakes that Michel Roux and his panel would have ruthlessly condemned if he/she were a contestant for the Palm Court.

For lunch, I have ordered a 4-course menu. The freshly shucked hotel grade oysters at an addition of HK$40 was indeed a bargain. The oysters did came in fresh with the 2-condiments, no complaint (well, the oyster itself pretty much did all the work).

The prawn cobb salad with a creamy lemon sauce echoes that perpetual Roux-comment “presentation is simply not 5-star standard”. While the prawn and lemon sauce were both fresh, the frugal amount of vegetables littered with corn was just not insta-worthy.

The Bostonian Lobster Bisque was indeed impressive, but I felt that I was coerced into topping up for this premium option because the other “chef daily soup” was an ordinary cream of corn, an inexpensive ingredient and unfit for a healthy diet. I am unsure whether the chef added maple syrup or brandy and butter into the soup. I pray that it’s the latter, but in any event, oaky flavours were there. Lobsters though, again circling back to the panel comments, were not evenly cooked – some were on the spot but some were over.

While the flavours of the lamb chop was perfectly executed, the head chef again, committed the fatal mistake of falling behind in service. 50 minutes into the meal, and long after I finished the bisque, the main dish was still not served. Nonetheless, I thank the staff for the free coffee as pacifier, which tasted amazing. Again, I could hear the same judges complain about how the lamb could have been sufficiently rested if the chef was better organized.

距離上次黎呢度食weekend brunch,都應該有差唔多三年嘅時間。朋友約食飯一講起再約喺朗廷酒店嘅呢間海鮮餐廳食飯,二話不說即跟。呢度嘅海鮮platter 基本上係長青推薦,每次叫都唔會失望。Seafood platter 有龍蝦、有法國的生蠔、有煙三魚、有大蝦、有帶子、有蟹,仲要有我勁愛嘅翡翠螺。不過我覺得最精彩係佢嘅Grill,當晚食嘅Iberian Pork同牛肉係好難忘。一人叫一個龍蝦湯,可能人強馬壯,仲有得堂弄,加過VSOP之後,真係香氣撲鼻得多。而家仲要有個special crab Menu,愛蟹嘅都不要錯過。咁耐無黎先知,原來呢度有米芝蓮必比登推薦,遲來總好過無到啦,想食靚海鮮同Grill扒類,呢度絕對係一個好選擇。仲有同W小姐講多聲,生日快樂。

同老公周年紀念嚟普遍都話好評酒店餐廳人頭,每人一個set $438麵包不過不失,但上枱時個包係暖嘅 加分木製用具亦都好乾淨頭盤 揀咗一個係有六隻蠔比想像之中好食,以四百幾蚊成個餐,頭盤有六隻蠔相當之抵蠔唔算係好細隻嘅,都有少少海水味頭盤 另外一個叫咗薄切帶子蟹肉沙律青色一點點係青芥辣調味嗰塊好刀工到透明嘅就係帶子中間蟹肉加青瓜碎加類似沙律醬清清地算係幾開胃不過如果同個蠔比就相對失色兩個人嘅主菜都嗌咗肉眼扒 5成熟最令人驚喜係塊扒,因為一切落去相當之淋,亦都唔會冇口感而且有牛味,配菜有粟米蛋餅、炸薯仔蓉再配幼薯條🍟、幾個口感都有齊男仔份量都夠飽!最後做甜品,叫咗個蘋果crumble 連雲呢拿雪糕口味都甜,如果食晒成個餅底都會有啲膩下次比我再揀會考慮叫熱情果朱古力🍫
