我從中環地鐵站走過去, 頗遠, 幸好以前在半山上班, 路依稀記得. 巧合地在醫學博物館旁邊, 感覺整個環境更雅致.
店面分開兩part, 前面是售賣麵包的, 後方是堂食. 兩時半來到入座率也有八成.
可惜肚子不餓, 無緣嘗名物spiced apple tart, 就點一杯latte吧!
小妹對latte情有獨鍾, 除了可以欣賞那精緻的拉花, 我更喜歡那espresso和牛奶的比例. 幸好這店有skimmed milk供應, 加分!
落單不久latte送到我的面前, 拉花很漂亮和完整, 奶泡亦很細緻綿密, 咖啡夠醇香,
襯托著Tiffany綠的咖啡杯更賞心悅目.

服務方面亦不錯, 雖然小妹只點一杯咖啡, 但店員也會細心添水.
最後$40換來一天的好心情, 非常值得. 我會再來試蘋果撻的.
偶爾出外走走才有嘗試新事物的契機, 不是嗎?

I was kinda unlucky that day while pouched egg, apple tart and most of the savories were sold out. Crab Tartine was my choice and it was not disapponting. The big ball of crab paste was nice but i love most the avocado paste! The staff are very friendly. 
Just come over, chat and recommend food on the menu, with smile on their faces this really made up a good weekend afternoon. 

However the place is a bit packed. I was sitting in an indoor table, the next table is just 5cm apart, and the noise of the ladies next table was so loud! So cant quite read there. 

Hope to come again on weekdays and see if it could be a quiet corner.

Overall, the staff was amicable and well-mannered but there was this one lady in the shop (I'm guessing she's the owner?) who acted like she got out of bed on the wrong side. We went on a Saturday afternoon and sat outdoors because there weren't any more tables inside. We went on a Saturday afternoon and sat outdoors because there weren't any more tables inside. I tried to order the "terrine du chocolat noir" but that lady insisted that because we were sitting outdoors, they were not going to serve it. To quote verbatim: "there isn't a point in serving it since it's gonna melt anyway." I found this ridiculous considering the fact that it's autumn now and it wasn't hot that day. Plus even if we did sit "indoors", the cafe is semi-open i.e. the cafe had folding patio doors and they were wide open when we went so there really wasn't a difference sitting outdoors or "indoors". What she could have done instead is to warn me and let me decide whether or not I wanted a terrine that might melt. Apart from that, she was just sulky and rude.

Po Hing Fong has always struck me as an escape from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong with its friendly and relaxing ambience but this lady has completely ruined it for me- I did not go all the way to this place just to be spoken to rudely.

BELT: 想要來一個熱食,店員問我們想要吃三文治還是有雞蛋的,原來假如有雞蛋的話,在我們的那個時段(12:30pm後),就只有BELT了吧,其實就是荷包 蛋,煙肉,蕃茄,蔬菜的漢堡。最喜歡的是那煎得還有一點漿漿,但蛋汁還不會流出的感覺,那煙肉不知道是不是有點煎過火了,是脆身,但挺硬的,要點牙力便是 了。 值得一讚的是在一旁的有鮮葡萄的乳酪也是挺討喜的,而且吃到的乳酪不過酸。

由於門外還有客人等待,所以吃完沒多久店員便詢問食物到齊了沒有,接着便替我們埋單,是比想像中快了一點了吧,也曾有一度想感覺是挺像快餐的,但也還是了解情況的。
整體而言,也是不錯的,但要專程到訪,值不值得,也是因人而異吧,但對我而言,在沒有空調,坐得不太久,食物水準是平實,要不要再到訪,便真的再好好考慮了。

Dirty is actually espresso with cold milk. Interesting, right?! Usually coffee like latte is added hot milk & pull off with the latte art on top. But when the cold milk hits the hot espresso, its looks really “dirty”…literally! The uneven color of the cold milk with the espresso looks interesting! The taste of it was alright, since cold milk was added, it’s either very hot or cold.

Unfortunately, since we were arranged to sit outdoor, they actually serve drink in paper cup. So, I couldn’t see much of the “dirty” effect. I saw people who sits indoor, their cup of “dirty” was served beautifully with a glass cup, which you can see the color clearly!!!

Crab Tartine is another item on the menu that have to order again!!! As I mentioned in the previous food review, it’s better to eat it with hand! It’s still fresh like the first time I have it. The only difference from last time was it served with a pizza box. Once again…’cause we were sitting outdoor.

It’s an interesting way to serve up the food, but I just think it’s not really that environmentally friendly. I saw lots of people just dispose the paper cups & boxes into the bin, which isn’t for recycle! I understand that they are small business with limited utensils & manpower though.

During the lunch, we saw there was a table available inside the cafe. So, we requested to move in. Since we were now sitting the indoor table, we were expecting the food to be served with normal plate instead of paper cups & boxes.

However, when the tomato soup (new item on menu) arrived our table, we were quite shocked that it was served in a tall paper cup. The bread was placed inside a paper bag with feta cheese & butter in a plastic container. So for the sake of taking a beautiful picture with it, of course we requested to transfer the tomato soup into a bowl & place it together with the bread, cheese & butter on a plate.

In term of taste…the tomato soup tasted strong in REAL tomato flavor & tomato chucks can be found in the soup. The baguette has a crunchy exterior & soft moist interior. It’s good to dip the baguette into the soup or just eat with the feta cheese & butter.

After crab tartine & soup, we were off to order some dessert.

White, red, green. What an interesting color combination!!! So as the flavors…vailla, strawberry & basil!! Never think basil could be added into a dessert dish!! The vanilla panna cotta was really creamy & light, not heavy at all! The strawberry ceviche was fresh & tangy, which balanced out the creamy panna cotta. The basil granita tasted interesting, almost unusual! I can’t say I like it, but I didn’t hate it either.

It’s like a beautiful drawing!!! Love the colors, love the flavors!!!

The chocolate terrine was in strong & rich chocolate flavor. The blood orange sorbet & those citrus fruits tasted tangy & sour, which balanced out the richness of the chocolate terrine. Sweetness from the caramel & nuttiness from the pistachio added some different layer of flavors to this dessert. It’s just felt like…”BOOM!! BOOM!! BOOM!!”.

The famous signature apple tart!!!! When I first saw it on Instagram/ Openrice, I really though they bakes the whole apple inside the pastry, ’cause they left the apple stem on top! But the fact is they sliced the granny smith & layer it back into an apple-shaped. The pastry was flaky & buttery! The apple slices was soft & full of cinnamon flavor! I can just eat the whole apple tart without the vanilla cream.

I heard they added some new items on the menu recently! Need to go there again!!

There are quite a lot of choices on the menu. I definiately want to try their famous apple tart. But It's a bit heavy to eat it in the morning.

As Po's Atelier is their sister's bakery shop, I'm confident that their sourdough should be good. So, that was what I ordered:

As I sat right across the open kitchen, I can see how the chef there prepare the dish.
First of all, they putted 2 pieces of sourdough on the plate, then avocado was slided into pieces to laid on the bread. Luttuce and tomato slides were also putted on top. Last but not least, a BIG SCOOP of crab goodness was putted on top. Those crab mixture on top included fresh & juicy crab meat, apple & onion.

The crab tartine was pretty hard to eat with fork & knife. So it's highly recommended to just go all out & use your hand!

The sourdough was as expected in good quality! Even with lots of ingredients layered on top, it didn't go soggy at all!


The avocado slides added a bit creamy texture & taste into the dish. I love they added the apple & onion into the crab meat that had a bit of crunchy bites texture.

I thought about ordered a cup of drink to go with the crab tartine, but I was kind of full after the pecan tart & mocha at ANTIPODEAN on Upper Station Street before I came here.

Well....just another excuses to come here again!

周末是應該讓人輕鬆一下的日子, 最好就是在陽光普照下, 歎著咖啡, 看著風景, 終於可以實現了!上環是一個奇怪的地方, 有些古舊的店舖, 有些很商業的大廈, 有些隱蔽的地方, 夾集不同的特色演變出來的, 是日上環遊的地點是普慶坊特色小店, 四方街的建築物, 古董街的小玩兒, 玩到累了, 到普慶坊的cafe deadend坐下來, 這裡人頭湧湧, 有很多外國人到來, 我們等了一會才有座位, 但可能店員太少, 人手不足, 等了許久才可以Order, 但這裡好像到了外國一樣, 附近有花花草草, 心情去了渡假, 所以都不用著急, 看著風景, 說說笑, 已經是一樂事, 咖啡不錯, 有準之作, 大愛其咖啡杯的tiffany的顏色,  食物方面, 有poached egg and ham和 煙肉伴芝士炒蛋麵包, 份量很適合女孩子們,  poached egg的醬汁調配得很好, 推介!

坐下來, 這裡人頭湧湧, 有很多外國人到來, 我們等了一會才有座位, 但可能店員太少, 人手不足, 等了許久才可以Order, 但這裡好像到了外國一樣, 附近有花花草草, 心情去了渡假, 所以都不用著急, 看著風景, 說說笑, 已經是一樂事, 咖啡不錯, 有準之作, 大愛其咖啡杯的tiffany的顏色,  食物方面, 有poached egg and ham和 煙肉伴芝士炒蛋麵包, 份量很適合女孩子們,  poached egg的醬汁調配得很好, 推介!

first thing to bear in mind when visiting this café in the summer - always take the route of walking down from caine road.
i had the pleasure of walking up to the place from sheung wan mtr station (thought it'd be good exercise for me). this route requires going up ladder street, which i did. by the time i reached the place, i was soaking wet, panting - which was sort of embarrassing (lol).

despite gasps and sweat, i managed to take a picture of the deadend.

there is peacefulness, as if this place is its own world with a particularly slow pace; almost a still image. this atmosphere is ideal for chilling with a couple of girlfriends in the afternoon. loved the simple combination of the green shrubs, the yellowish lighting, the white walls and the black windows/doors. 

arrived at around 14:00. five to six 2-person tables plus a handful of bar table stools.

only two tables were occupied then. d and e were still on their way to the place. seated myself after a barista helpfully put together two tables for me and placed on our table their menu.

as i was reading the menu, 'bloody attacks' took place under our table... before long, i was scratching my legs like mad - second thing to remember when visiting this café, BRING MOSQUITO REPELLANT. have to admit, i have always been more prone to mosquito attacks than my friends. but i saw that ladies at other tables who wore shorts were also scratching/ putting on ointments.
after both d and e had arrived, i couldn't take it anymore and had to run to the nearest supermarket for mosquito repellant. planned to get ointment for my mosquito bites as well, but d called and told me that one barista there had it with her and could borrow me.
by the time i left the place, there were more than 35 mosquito bites on my legs, and my girlfriends had zero. i felt like a living mosquito repellant for others. >)

enough about the environment of the place. since e and d hadn't had lunch, they each ordered a salad as their meal.
d had crab tartine ($120) and dirty ($35) which i found out from past reviews was cold milk added into hot espresso, in order to create the 'dirtiness' - playful! i had a sip of dirty and i really liked it. the milk and the coffee mixed well together in my mouth to give a strong yet not bitter taste.
e had steak and onsen egg salad ($150) (available after 12:30pm) and a cold drink (which i forgot to ask her about
). she said twice(!) that the steak salad was really yummy - so it must have been really good (cos my dear e is not a wordy person)! plan to try it next time wehehe

i had already had lunch, so i was there for the coffee and dessert. as usual, i ordered my cappuccino.

the latte art was very nice, a beautiful heart. the foam was smooth and thick, but the amount of it was not quite enough. the coffee beneath was good, strong enough to not be covered up by the milk. the size of the drink however was rather small.

i have a special favour for warm apple tarts, in the sense that i would usually order it if the resto provides it. unfortunately, upon inquiry, the barista told us that there was no more apple tart. instead, she recommended to us their summer special and we decided to give it a try - terrine du chocolat noir.

the three of us were all wow-ed by the delightful presentation of the dish. i was particularly impressed by the lovely colour scheme of summer - brown, red, orange and yellow.
the serving barista explained that there was the mousse-like chocolate terrine, above which was their homemade blood orange sorbet. the dish was garnished with small slices of orange/ blood orange, caramel sauce and pistachio. 

upon tasting the dish, i was even more surprised - it was really good!
the chocolate terrine melted in my mouth like fine dark chocolate. it was not very sweet and went very well with the blood orange sorbet, which was of course wonderful to be put into one's mouth on a hot summer day. pistachio bits gave nutty flavours and something to chew on. and finally, the caramel was there to add sweetness.
must say, the combination of the chocolate, the sorbet, the caramel and the pistachio was just right!

frankly, this experience was quite unforgettable. my legs were practically swollen when i left the place. lol on the other hand, the coffee and dessert (especially the latter) were undeniably of high quality

to conclude, i'll definitely be back for the chocolate terrine and to try the other dishes... with mosquito repellant

Spiced Apple Tart($50),從前那位主廚在任時已十分受歡迎的蘋果撻,至今面貌雖略為不同,但人氣不滅。選用了最適合用作烘焙的Granny Smith蘋果,一片一片在酥皮撻中疊起來,玉桂糖香甜且味道不過火。只是那坨忌廉似的雲呢嗱雪糕太軟,融化速度亦超出預期,吃得不夠愉快。

甫坐下連點三樣甜點,最喜歡就是Banana Bostock($40)。牛油厚多士Brioche上鋪滿香蕉片和杏仁片,暖烘烘的加上香甜焦糖醬,實是百吃不厭的不敗組合。

看了菜單良久,千島醬似乎沒被它的鹹點打動,最後選了麵包籃Po's Morning($65)。點菜時女店員也有提醒我們可能會吃不完,不過既然吃不完也可外帶,我們亦沒卻步。上來份量沒預想的多,內容包括Danish、Oolong Fig、Brioche和Mini Baguette。Danish不算很酥脆,Oolong Fig的烏龍茶味不過爾爾,但勝在有無花果點綴。Brioche烘得鬆軟香脆,好吃。最喜歡Mini Baguette,皮脆豐麥香,塗上店自家製的果醬更是完美。

最後一道甜點在我們吃過其他東西才上來。Terrine du Chocolat Noir($85),朱古力凍的可可味濃厚,質感恰好不會太硬或太軟。伴上一球清新血橙雪芭,食味不錯但我總覺兩者不是最佳拍檔,可能換上乳味較重的雪糕會更相宜?反而開心果仁碎才是百搭之王,配雪芭或是朱古力都很對味。
縱使炎夏大開門戶,憑著那門外的大風扇和自然風,也不至讓人汗流浹背。食物價位定得不低,但是值得一訪,待它換上新菜單的時候定會再回來試試。
少時曾患過厭食症,明白那每一口食物都彌足珍貴。現在更懂要吃就不能計較太多,計了就很難享受美味。只要吃得樂,適可宜止,無怨無悔,吞下了的誓不吐出來。過份堅持就是固執,我每天仍在練習中,姊妹們,共勉之。

朋友推介下午茶,但個地方真係搵咗好耐,揸車都要周圍搵!去到都唔係有好多嘢叫,因為好多都已經賣唒,個 banana bostock 真係不生難忙,一試愛上,望落去好似好甜,但食落都真係好味到不能用紙墨形容!

餐牌其實只是一條小小的紙條, 上面簡單的印了好幾款食物和飲品. 不過提供的食物其實只有十款左右, 但款式都幾特別的, 而且多以輕食和麵包類為主, 例如有提供CREAM CHEESE的BAGEL或POACHED EGG等等, 但如果怕不夠飽, 這裡在中午12:30後也有提供一款STEAK的. 主食價格一般由HKD$65到HKD$150不等, 視乎點的菜色而定. 這裡的甜品也有4款, 當中不能不提的是這裡的名物APPLE TART了. 但可惜友人說現時出品的APPLE TART巳沒從前那麼好吃, 所以這次就不點了.
另外作為CAFE當然也有不少咖啡款式提供了, 除了有基本一點的MOCHA, LATTE, CAPPUCCINO之外, 也有AMERICANO, LONG BLACK等等, 價錢又不算貴, 一杯大約HKD$20到HKD$40左右.

宅女本身不太好咖啡, 所以還是來杯特飲好了.

上來都幾大杯, 內裡用上不少的新鮮奇異果肉, 再加上點點薄荷和梳打水製成. 入口果然十分清涼, 整杯其實沒什麼甜度的, 但喝起來帶有陣陣奇異果香, 更夾雜著薄荷的冰感, 整個口腔都非常清涼, 當中亦能吃到啖啖果肉而且味道不假, 實在十分適合夏天喝.

宅女第一次來真的沒什麼頭緒應該點什麼吃才好, 不過剛好看到廚房中的店員正在為另一枱的客人做這個粟米湯, 看起來賣相相當不錯呢~忍不住便點來試試了. 上來除了有一大碗的粟米湯, 更有一條長長的法包, 另外還有一磚牛油和一小碟燒粟米粒. 感覺雖然只是粟米湯, 但以這個份量來看其實吃完應該都會飽肚的.
粟米湯上方還放了一小堆的奶油, 攪拌後湯身意想不到的十分濃稠, 聞一聞巳飄著濃郁的粟米香氣. 喝一口, 口感滑身又夠挺, 感覺十分豐厚, 而且富奶香, 但喝起來又不會很咸很重, 湯身濃稠帶黏, 實在是個人想理的粟米湯質感! 如果熱度能再提高一點定會更好, 冬天喝這個效果必會更暖心! 旁邊附有的燒粟米是加入粟米湯內令口感更豐富, 更有咬口. 不過其實如果只吃那個粟米粒也幾好吃的, 粒粒飽滿又有點烤香. 另外的那條長法包外層十分香脆, 撕開時''卡''一聲的清脆動人, 麵包中間也頗鬆軟, 把包沾進湯吃那份粟米的香甜跟外脆內軟的麵包配起來真的非常對味.
單看價格一份是有點貴, 不過質素十分不錯, 普通胃口點來一份自己吃其實都夠飽的, 而且沒有吃肉那麼肥膩, 是個不錯的OL午餐選擇.

如果大胃口的朋友來這裡怕不夠飽的話, 其實這裡也有些具份量級的主菜. 像這份漢堡除了有有厚厚的生菜和大大片的蕃茄之外, 更有2塊烤得十分香脆的煙肉, 上方再來一隻荷包煎蛋, 單看賣相巳經非常吸引了!! 先弄穿蛋黃, 讓蛋汁緩緩的流下來染滿下層的其他配料和麵包, 吃起來口感更豐盛. 把頂層的麵包沾一沾蛋汁吃, 包身鬆軟得來又富蛋香, 再來伴著煙肉吃, 肉質香口又夠肉味, 而且油脂度不會很高, 加上底下的蕃茄多汁得來又帶點厚度, 和脆爽的生菜片發揮了其清爽口腔的作用, 所以雖然這個漢堡頗大個, 但吃起來也不覺得好肥膩.
附碟還有些蘋果切片, 吃完漢堡再吃這個更能中和一下那份飽滯感. 整體來說這個漢堡水準也相當不錯的.

這裡的沙律有2款, 分別是比較清淡的HOUSE SALAD, 和這個加有水牛芝士的CAPRESE SALAD. 份量其實都幾多, 我們3個人分來吃就剛剛好了. 底下鋪滿了幾片較大件又有厚度的Buffalo Mozzarella, 也放置了不少切半的車厘茄, 上方還有些火箭菜. 最後淋上了不少羅勒籽的沙律醋, 整個沙律雖然是素食, 但看起來顏色鮮明, 用上的食材亦夠新鮮豐富, 實在亳不單調的. 水牛芝士入口軟棉有奶香, 跟底下帶點微酸的沙律醋同吃味道又十分搭配, 也不會互相搶味, 加上旁邊的火箭菜和車厘茄, 吃起來味道清爽但又能絕對滿足!

雖然友人說這裡的APPLE TART水準巳不復當初, 但聽聞這裡做的朱古力甜點也不錯, 所以點了這款朱古力磚試試. 上來份量不算好多但2個人分應該都夠吃的. 厚厚的朱古力磚上, 放了一顆以血橙做成的雪芭, 旁邊還有幾片香橙肉以及不少的開心果仁碎. 最後配上焦糖醬來吃. 先吃一口雪芭, 入口輕身且多汁, 清爽順喉, 為跟著試的朱古力磚先輕輕的清一下口腔. 再來朱古力一啖吃下去, 質感十分滑溜又帶著香濃的朱古力味, 感覺像是較結實的MOUSSE, 配著橙肉來吃更加對味. 其實個人就覺得不沾焦糖醬味道巳夠豐富, 但如果想再甜美一點的也可以再沾一點來吃.

最後我們三個人吃了三份主菜, 2個甜品和三杯飲品, 埋單差不多要HKD$600左右. 吃得算有8成飽, 除開每人HKD$200左右, 感覺還可以吧.
食物水準果真是不錯, 雖然定價是有點高, 不過這裡環境不錯, 而且這天來到周圍都頗寧靜的, 如果趁人少時來這裡點杯咖啡傾下計, 或吃個寫意的早餐, 感覺應該不錯的.
