This week is my birthday week and my friend is leaving Hong Kong in a few days. I decided to come here for lunch both to celebrate my birthday and also to bid him farewell. I struggled between Robuchon and Caprice. However, it seemed appropriate to eat at a place to admire Hong Kong's stunnin view one last time(for him) and we chose Caprice.Initially the booking for window seats were full, but to our surprise, we got a window seat that day.I will upload my friend's meal as well but I will only d
I will upload my friend's meal as well but I will only describe the dishes I tried.
This dish totally reminded me that tomatoes are a kind of fruit, not vegetables. Not only did it look like a beautiful garden, the taste was stunning. Each bite was juicy and sweet and the richness of the burrata complemented it well. Who would have believed that it was smoked eel in the middle? Not only was it decorated to a corn shape, the corn gazpacho was rich and sweet and almost could be a dessert(this is a compliment).
The fish was tender and juicy but the sides definitely elevated the dish. The sweetness of the peach, freshness of the mashed zucchini and the slightly spicy arugula sauce made each bite of this dish turn into an explosion of flavors.
I never tried a verbena cake and it was definitely a treat. The cake itself was a bit herbal and citric and the peach flavor on top complemented this cake quite well.
I also took a bite of my friends brownie cheesecake which was also divine.
The service was of course excellent and even on leaving they will wish me happy birthday one more time. A really great place for celebration.
