Green Cottage is located on the second floor of the building. The second floor seating area's dimension was quite large, seating for three or more people seemed pretty spacious, yet two people's seating were all packed together. The 2 people table was big enough to hold the food though. However do expect no privacy here, as I could literally hear every single conversation of the tables near me. Despite the seating arrangement, I do love the chair design which you could put your handbag on the basket weave platform underneath. The restaurant runs a self ordering system. They provide you the menu and a sheet of paper with tables, then you fill the tables with the number of the food you want. Very efficient indeed.

1) Raw(Fresh) beef with flat noodles
The beef came in totally raw on an oily soup base. We pushed the fresh beef deep down the bottom and dumped the fresh bean sprouts into the soup. The soup was seemingly not hot enough and took quite a while to cook the fresh beef. The soup itself tasted nice and savoury but was rather oily. The bean sprouts were crispy since they were only slighlt cooked(or warmed). The flat noodles was in chinese style, and was not those authentic Vietnamese flat noodles.

2) Vietnamese Deep Fried Spring Rolls
Vietnamese Deep Fried Spring Rolls is my must order Vietnamese dish. The spring rolls came with a pathetic portion. Three whole pieces of spring rolls were cut in half to create an deception to fill the plate. Despite the size, I was contended with the spring rolls. It had crispy skin and delicious hot fillings with in. The wrapping lettuce was fresh and large, yet a bit too large to wrap the tiny spring rolls.

3) Gelatin Rice Ball with chicken
Since Green Cottage has included dishes that are not authentic Vietnamese cuisine, I had no idea which actually is. I ordered this Gelatin Rice Ball with chicken, and thought it could be quite interesting.

I was shocked when I saw the huge riceball on the plate! I thought there would be a few smaller riceballs but I guess I misreaded the 's'. The riceball was very nice and I absolutely love it. It was extremely sticky and chewy and was slightly crispy on the outside. The riceball alone was not very tasteful, so the roasted duck sauce was needed to go with the it. The chicken was pan fried and served at side, it was very tender and nice! The skin tasted great and savory but was a bit fat underneath the skin. The chicken was rather large and meaty, I wonder how does this large fillet come from.

In general, Green Cottage Vietnamese provided efficient services, average food quality with affordable price and a wide range of food choices even though many of them are not authentic dishes. Not a particularly good restaurant but not a bad one either.

七月三十日 (星期五)老公仔last day,大劉請Happy Hour玩了好一陣子"First Impression",有說有笑,很開心飲完野後,大家都很餓了(當然尤其是我!搭地鐵到銅鑼灣吃清亭.燕萍不用等位,一行七人總算坐得舒服!咖喱羊腩配蒜蓉包蒜蓉包是必吃的!香香的蒜蓉味,包很脆無論單吃或是加咖哩汁一樣好吃羊腩雖加上咖哩汁,但仍保持羶味,不錯不錯牛油雞翼老公仔說牛油雞翼始終是紅跑車最好可惜紅跑車已經開走(結業)了...這裡都好吃,不過很油蟹肉湯檬大Jan的推介,我和老公仔是第一次試呢好吃,湯底很濃的蟹味配上鮮嫩皂蟹肉,與湯檬很匹配呢!豬排撈檬一般水準,不過不失...檬粉豬排算是不錯炸蝦餅不是特出,可以不試沒有鮮蝦味,交差的一碟紮肉炒蛋炒飯香香的炒飯推介!很多紮肉,用料十足值得推介馬來炒覓菜菜比較老,而且很辣是不是臨近晚市收爐的緣固?

在朋友介紹下,到這間所謂的越南餐廳用晚膳。已經是夜晚10時多,所以很快就等到位。樓面頗大坐滿了顧客,檯與檯之間(除中間有間隔的檯位)沒甚麼空間所以所以較擠迫坐得不舒服。等落單時見到侍應招呼得很機器化,只想盡快落完單就離開沒耐性(我只點了小食還沒看完就從我手上拿走餐牌!!)。上菜時亦將碟子碗子'錠'到檯上,就算忙也好快收工也好,服務態度亦有待改善。現在說一下點了甚麼和味道如何…蒸粉卷: 味道似公仔點心的叮叮雞絲紛皮, 沒甚麼特別。有豬肉碎和木耳,有很少胡椒粉味。粉皮太厚好飽肚。順化豬蹄檬: 傳統順化檬粉的湯是用順化牛肉調味粉加上大量紅蔥、牛肉、魚露熬上好幾個小時才會好喝夠牛肉濃味的。這裡的湯並沒這樣熬。只用生牛肉湯河的清湯再混上順化牛肉調味粉和少量普通生洋蔥而已。味道自然缺少傳統風味,而且太甜。當下即刻向侍應要了鹹魚露補救,倒了半匙到湯裏才覺得像樣些。豬手沒跟順化湯一起煲(因湯會變啫喱狀),而是分開用豉油煮至軟身,所以味道不太搭配。越南生魚酸湯: 這難得地最像地道越南風味。而且照足傳統在湯裏頭落了入口爽脆的白霞。其他湯料有菠蘿粒、蕃茄、芽菜和魚片。美中不足的是我吃過的所有越南酸魚湯都是一

燒豬扒撈檬: 燒豬扒像一般港式茶餐廳的豬扒,無香茅味。一塊豬扒切成四小塊,檬粉很多,只有少許生青瓜絲和紅蘿蔔絲在檬粉下面。其實越南撈檬的配菜要有生青瓜絲、生菜絲、還有醃至酸酸甜甜的白蘿蔔紅蘿蔔絲。這裏顯然地偷工減料了。而且撈檬主要調味角色的越南酸甜魚露,這裏的已不可用差來形容。香港越南餐廳慣性用水溝稀魚露,唯獨這一間的稀得像水一樣無味道。這碗撈檬只可用來填飽肚子。欣賞味道則不必了。

兩個人埋單180。我當吃了一餐港式晚飯便算了。

咖喱牛腩+蒜蓉包, lee個都好好味, 而且好足料, 又夠著仔.........!!! 配埋個蒜蓉包真係一絕!!!

另外仲有order o既軟殼蟹, 不過唔算最好味~~~ 唔知點形容

要食牛油雞亦, 牛肉河粉及蝦豬粉卷, 我首選黎度.1. 牛油雞亦- 大大隻夠香口,如果牛油味再多d會更好.2. 火車頭粉- 除了牛筋唔夠淋, 牛丸牛肉及牛柏葉都好正. 湯底夠熱及好清甜, 飲曬都唔會thirsty.3. 蝦豬粉卷-永遠都包得實實正,加埋醬汁好野味.大熱天時,竟然仲有2台人食牛肉hot pot, 下次一定會叫黎食一食.

上星期日相約友人與她男友到清亭晚飯, 訂了檯, 準時七點到達. 我與友人order 了四個dishes, 但中途友人收到其男友來電, 表示因工作太累, 不來了. 我們沒法子,只好繼續食我們order 了的菜. 但沒想到我們究竟是三個人, 或是二個人用膳, 一直被那位長髮老闆娘(想應該是吧)看在眼內, 她目露凶光的走到我與友人前面, 用高8度及責問口吻, 向我們說: "你們的朋友還來不來0架?" 我們對她說, "他不來了", 誰知那長髮老闆娘立時再用其高8度的聲線向我們叫說 "我們會收取你50元0架, 因為你們說會有三個人, 現在只有兩個人, 但坐了四人檯, 要是你一早說只有兩個人, 我們只會給你二人檯; 三個人坐四人檯就當然沒問題啦! 嘩...咩事呀?! 我與友人即時感到十分氣憤, 為什麼今時今日仲有D咁既服務態度?! 老實講, 佢地D野係幾好食,之但係作為 so call 老闆娘, D服務態度係咪應該要好D先? 佢D伙計既態度仲好過佢lor!, 我睇佢都係要好好向佢班伙計學習! 仲有, 記住, 你做服務性行業, 我與友人係比錢幫親0個個, 係客人, 唔好話顧客永遠是對的, 但起碼要有應有的禮貌與專重對待客人; 要是唔知點serve 客, 就唔好企鋪面!

Had lunch with my friend yesterday. It was extremely terrible. I cant believed such of restaurant can stay in business in our heart of Hong Kong. From their lunch menu, they have over 15-20 set lunch combinations for $42, it sounds great becos with so many varities, BUT if you read the menu carefully, you will notice they try to charge extra $$ on each item of what you picked. From their lunch menu, they have over 15-20 set lunch combinations for $42, it sounds great becos with so many varities, BUT if you read the menu carefully, you will notice they try to charge extra $$ on each item of what you picked. Additional $4 for vietnamese noodles type, $4/$5 for iced lemon tea or some other drinks and 10% service charge (we filled our own lunch form for the orders, no one help at all beside when we asked for the "check")

I have picked "Sliced chicken noodles in soup", it came with 8 slices of 0.2mmx 0.5mm x 2 cm chicken sliced, with very unfreshed bean spouts in the bottom, 4 table spoon of noodles in my bowl, I am sure my bowl of chicken noodles won't cost them more than $5 dollars to make it. For the drink, I have ordered "Cream Soda", I thought they made mistake and gave me iced water at first becos the drink is in "CLEAR" color with lot of ice, but they insisted that was Cream Soda.

I will never never give them a chance again. They have "NO HEART" to host business. If I am restaruant chamber of Vietnam, I will sue them to use the name of Vietnamese Restaurant.
