This place is great for any meal of the day. There's a large variety of bagels to choose from. We went during lunch time, and next time maybe I'll go during afternoon tea period (as I saw they have mini bagel set for afternoon tea). Today we ordered a lunch set (Curry Chicken Bagel w/ Daily Soup - Cream of Corn & Ham) and also a Smoked Salmon Bagel w/ Latte. The Curry Chicken on 7-Grains Bagel tasted better than the Smoked Salmon on Pumpkin Seed & Flax Seed Bagel. Overall, we were satisfied and really really full (as the bagel sandwiches were quite big). However, I really wish if they can make their bagels not as hard! continue reading

Bagel-a chewy bread with a hole punched in the middle. something that goes well with jam, cream cheese, salmon or salad. more and more cafes devoting to serve the best bagels are emerging in town and one of the very best is harvest in central.lunch sets were available but i was determined in ordering a bagel sandwich to chew on, and i didnt feel like eating BBQ chicken bagel-so i ordered a smoked salmon bagel and a small kiwi juice, while my mum had a lunch set C, which consists of a chicken and wild mushroom salad and a small orange juice. i could also personalize my smoked salmon by choosing the bagel (7grain, wholewheat, plain..) and cream cheese(plain, blueberry, cajun sauce...) and i ended up having the default for i couldnt think of a better combination than suggested. we settled on the second floor where its relatively quieter and the air con is stronger. we didnt wait for long before the food arrived-efficienty appreciated! the salad was served in a take-away plastic box while the bagel was toasted and halved just as wt i had ordered.first we finished the salad-the portion was huge and everything was tightly tucked into the plastic box, making tossing difficult. i had to use two forks to slowly 'rotate' the veggie chunks and stuff. the dressing was a plain olive oil, vinegar and herbs, but was refreshing; it went well with the lettuce and mushroom. the chicken was a little disappointing for they were quite tough indeed. and in general, the salad's texture was too consistent; a doze of almond flakes or coutons or flaxseed would be great cus they would definitely enrich the texture, giving it more variety and 'fun' to eat.next came the bagel. it was huge-not much smaller than a regular 'american' burger (not those served in local cafes). nicely halved without making a mess out of it, it could be seen that the fat salmon, cajun cream cheese, veggies, red onions and egg white were all nicely layered. everything tasted fresh and yummy! the salmon was lovely and not too soft; a slight sprinkle of lemon juice had even made the unique 'seafood' taste and aroma stood out. the veggies were fresh and crispy, however the scrambled egg white was just medicore-its not even salted. anyways, the whole sandwich was certainly above average-just that the toasted bagel was a little TOO chewy cause it has gone cold after being blown by the air con for way too long!as for a baby size juice, i have to say that the kiwi juice was outstanding. its so fresh that i thought i was eating a kiwi fruit rather than drinking its juice-lovely!it was a lovely lunch indeed, and a cheap one too-given the high quality of food served. theres even wifi here and its quiet, even during lunchtimes. a great place to hang around and eat healthy-i will definitely be here often! continue reading

Came here with a friend last night. Given that it was mid-autumn festival and most people were having dinner with their family either at home or in a Chinese restaurant, the cafe was pretty empty and my friend and I had the entire 2nd floor to ourselves (yup, they've re-opened 2/F).I had the popular salmon + egg white + pepper cream cheese on 7 grain ($38). I had originally asked for whole grain bagel but the server recommended to go with the original 7 grain, which I did.The food came 3 minutes after we were seated. The bagel was nicely toasted, and the salmon and egg white complemented each other nicely. The egg white was served cold together with the salmon, and because none of the component was hot, the bagel didn't turn soggy at all. The bagel itself wasn't as chewy and thick as New York style but definitely much better than a lot of places or bakeries. It'd be even better if their bagels go on sale at night continue reading

I have been to "Harvest" several times since they opened. I like this place for breakfast since they really have very good bagel with home made cream cheese, at a very reasonable breakfast. I mean this is central, if you have a breakfast in soho somewhere, it normally cost around 100 with coffee. They offer a set come with drink, at around 60. Now I don't go there very often anymore, since they blocked the upstairs, and the ground floor only have 2 or 3 seat within tiny space. Sometimes when I really want to eat bagel and have something fast, I will go there for take away. continue reading
