話說冬大過年,年尾總會有一些大大小小的飯局,好開心得到我工作上的客戶邀請,才知道呢間如此隠蔽的餐廳。雖然餐廳出面有一個地盤,但是入面的裝修頗具歐陸風,坐得很舒適。看到菜單,有幾個午餐可選擇,我也不客氣選了一個價格最高的午餐。先來一個蕃茄湯,蕃茄的味道很濃郁,加上中間一塊餅乾,增加了不少咬口,成個感覺好開胃。主菜終於到了,是黏了白芝麻的香煎三文魚伴白汁。呢塊三文魚真係煎得好香,外脆內軟。加上三文魚的兩邊各有層芝麻,食落感覺更香口。 continue reading

The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. Judging by the restaurant's look and decoration, it already tells you they serve honest food. The fries from fish & chips were just right. Shepherd's pie really carried out the British flavour. 轉工重返睽違數年的金鐘,夏至上司D小姐決定帶新人+小薯仔s去一間隱世英國菜餐廳去食萬歲午餐 (跳起yeah!)聽聞Limehouse嘅Shepherd's Pie相當出色,可惜午餐menu欠奉... 食沙律太齋(Caesar Salad with Iberico Ham),雜扒太邪惡(Miso Lamb Chop and Baby Backribs with Roated Tomatoes and Gravy),唯有中間着墨 ─ 來一客長通粉吧(Penne with Gammon Ham and Spinach in Ricotta Cream Sauce)Daily soup 紅菜頭薏米濃湯,味道同白湯無異,不過充滿夏日感覺嘅嫩紫紅色相當討喜 層次高啲嘅餐廳,梗係有層次高啲嘅食材。明明係一碟火腿白汁長通粉,火腿用上去筋緊嘅醃豬髀肉,以低脂乳清炮製嘅白汁比金寶湯醬汁更加滑溜,配上掛汁力強的菠菜 - 真心高汁 望見同事點嘅Fish & Chips 同埋雜扒,忽然發現喺「隱世英國菜餐廳」食意粉似乎捉錯用神哈哈即叫即有嘅檸檬撻同麵包布甸(各+$28)絕對係正路comfort food呢度嘅麵包布甸,竟然係布甸多個麵包  熱辣辣嘅雞蛋布甸伴隨一小片鬆脆嘅多士,大滿足~相信Limehouse 配上夜色會更加迷人… Shepherd's Pie, 等我喔#多謝D小姐  期待下一次萬歲午餐 continue reading

是夜走到船街盡頭,找到這間英國菜小店,幾個女生坐在一起瞬間破壞了這裏寧靜優雅的環境。還好其他食客都不太介意。先點幾道前菜伴紅酒,最滿意的是Grilled Prawns and Scallop, 帶子又大又肥美,口感有如刺身,是剛熟的恰到好處,不用太多汁醬正好保留食材的鮮味,故ENCORE了這道清新的海鮮小吃。第二碟同樣新鮮,沙律菜顏色漂亮,爽脆如新鮮摘下的。相比之下Crab Meat and Spinach Salad較失色,蟹肉味道不突出。還是喜歡原隻蟹件啖啖肉放到嘴中的感覺,幸好菠菜沙律清新可口。不經不覺吃了幾道沙律前菜,果然是這裏的必然之選,Endive Salad with Apples and Stilton鮮、爽、甜,平凡的沙律菜也能令人吃得開懷,且越吃越開胃。喜歡這裏的沙律醬汁不會過多,才能真正嚐到食材的原有鮮味。主菜方面,最愛這個Pork Chop with Iberico Ham。尤其吃過數輪新鮮沙律後,這塊厚厚而又充滿肉汁的鮮肉更顯味美。肉質出奇地嫩,自身肉汁配合濃濃醬汁吃來香濃美味,難得脂肪位不多,感覺一點不肥膩。這道Cod and Ricotta Parcels賣相很特別,可惜魚肉跟芝士及"包裹"的外皮混在一伙後,質感和口感都失真了,不是不好吃,但總覺整體來說吃起來欠層次感。魚味也不突出。甜品方面忘記了名字,只知四位女小生的湯匙在數輪晃動後,便火速將杯中物掏乾淨。杯底其實是Sherry wine jelly, 中層加入了餅碎;面層加上香滑的鮮忌廉後入口香醇軟滑,果然是大師級之作。尤其一瞥英國廚師忽然從廚房步出的神韻後,感覺比喝酒更令人神往。是夜成為大配角的是產自南澳的2013 Gnarly Dudes Shiraz。一向愛吃美食更勝杯中物的我並無留下深刻印象,但它總算做好伴談伴吃的本份,被我們乾盡了。 continue reading

第一次到船街這間餐廳,很難忘,因為很難找。 來來回回在船街走來走去都找不到,真係好嬲。最後要朋友落嚟喺間廟門口接我再上去。 間餐廳原來有2,3層高,外面設計好有英倫feel, 但實在太隱蔽,好難搵。 裡面每層都好細,只可放3-4張枱。可能由於有2,3層的關係,而waiters 要在這幾層樓穿梭,所以總是找不到人,這點應該要認真改善。不過,如果想跟朋友傾計就唔錯,因為根本冇人會理你。點咗個Tuna and avocado tartare, 這是今餐我最喜歡的菜式。牛油果味很濃,用了很多牛油果,配合埋吞拿魚,口感唔錯。跟住係海鮮盒,裡面有好多不同種類嘅海鮮,好豐富,但是味道一般。最後是甜品apple crumble, 焗得好味。裡面有好多蘋果,所以有很多蘋果味,幾好。 continue reading
