miso係我同老公逢星期日晚飯的飯堂,旺中帶靜,服務細心!今晚亦一如以往點了芥末蟹籽沙律,dressing幾特別,什錦魚生+sushi,和牛,銀雪魚,鰻魚薑飯,甜品creme brulee with icecream.值得一推的是鰻魚薑飯,飯的味道仿似加了白切雞的蔥油,十分惹味,但一點也不油膩.甜品亦做得出色,creme brulee好滑,吾錯.

Wanna to have Japanese food, the first choice is miso, mainly because I' ve got 50% discount for AE platinum card. The sashimi is very fresh, the terriyaki beef is tender and juicy. But crab meat dumpling was not good, only one thin slice of crab leg inside, a bit soggy and the skin was not crispy and quite chewy. I definitely won't order again. The uni fried rice is not as good as before, largely because they are not using that much uni nowadays (may be to reduce cost!!)....

鐵板燒枱有4位師父,估計可以服務最多20個客人,長期有貴價的和牛及鵝肝供應.壽司吧內有3位師父,面前的大魚缸有游水鮑魚及龍蝦.

店子装修優雅,燈光較暗,帶點西式浪漫氣氛.

既然是來吃一頓日本菜,我也喜歡依照日本人品嚐料理的程序吃,由淡至濃,特意一味味分段點菜,免得被餐廳上菜快慢打亂品嚐次序.

魚生篇:

二話不說,首先點了一客特上魚生拼盆,有8款時令魚生,包括貴價的 toro 及 uni.

不到一會,一份美觀而顏色奪目的魚生船就送到面前,看它們色澤分明,已知道是新鮮貨式,可觀的是,每款魚生顏色皆不一樣,有深紅(吞拿魚),粉紅(吞拿魚腩),橙(三文魚,甜蝦),黃(海膽),白(帶子)....件件厚身,大小平均,更留意到那只帶子是作了一個心型狀,可見師父心思細意,特別叫人窩心.

師父教落:適當的食法是由淡至濃,先吃味道較淡的魚片,最後才吃味道最濃的吞拿魚腩及海膽,否則就會被後者搶過其他魚的清淡鮮味.

期待的晚餐終於開始,吃過第一片魚生,已令我滿嘴清甜,再來一片,盡是肥美軟滑綿綿鮮甜的口感,點上日本鼓油,畫龍點晴,加上芥辣增添刺激,滿足食肉獸的慾望但又不用担心增磅及肥膩.

8款魚生中,最欣賞的是toro,最肥美及無筋;其次是帶子,應是北海道貨,十分厚身,啖啖肉,咀嚼時非常有滿足感;uni非常細小,應該是大連貨,因為加拿大現在仍是休魚期,而北海道亦非時令,但都鮮甜.

壽司卷物篇:
吃罷至愛的魚生,頓覺意猶未盡,決定加2客壽司,選了香蔥吞拿魚腩卷鰻魚壽司.

我對壽司卷物的要求有三,第一,要做得好,當然是飯要靚,有飯香及要夠黏性;二則材料配搭恰當,不多不小,有些師父喜歡玩創意配搭;有些主力料多,例如在大板,就有雙層魚生的壽司;有些只尊注傳統做法,但求用料上乘.自問非常博愛,味道棒就成;最後少不了是技巧,壽司件要有漂亮外觀及扎實,絕不能一碰即散. Miso的出品,完全符合我的基本要求.

師父教落:1,吃壽司要張開口一啖過;2,應該反手以魚生頂部點上豉油,如用飯團部份點就很容易點上過多的醬油,變成太鹹;3,不必多加wasabi,以免搶過魚片的鮮味.

香蔥吞拿魚腩卷 - 香蔥的搶並沒有蓋過魚腩粒的肥美,反增添口感,紫菜新鮮鬆脆,是一道完美的美味配搭.我就喜歡多加一些wasabi同吃,增添刺激.


鰻魚壽司 - 口感肥美軟綿綿,加上鰻魚汁更加滋味無窮.

燒物篇:
2款鐵板燒菜式,皆加插了些西菜色彩,fusion菜是也.

鐵板燒牛舌
賣相似西菜,於鐵板燒枱燒好的牛舌淋上肉汁,伴以雜菜沙律.

肉汁美味有cream的成份,配以牛舌亦恰當,但這樣的做法,牛舌就不及於鐵板燒枱上即燒即食的香口! 牛舌腍嫩入味,沙律亦清新輕盈,材料包括青瓜及青紅黃椒,是一道可以一試的菜式.

煙鴨胸
絕對fusion,鴨胸煙得入味軟熟,配以雜果沙律,口感輕盈,這道菜合格無驚喜.

主食篇;
香菇鮮蟹肉粥
非常欣賞的主食,蟹肉新鮮滑甜,香菇增添香味,粥底綿滑,上次光顧點了一客龍蝦剌身,剩下的蝦頭可要求加進此粥肉,倍增鮮甜.

晚飯過後,推介走到怡和大廈週邊的小公園,悠閒散步,聽聽水池聲,及從低處向天空遙望,欣賞高廈林立的中環夜景,別有一番風味.

To sum up, I can say1) Poor service =i) we order sushi lobster was on the sushi bar waited the waiter to delivery to us 15 min after cut ii) that night was not busy ... .don't understand why ask for fork and knife... never came along & no tea refill2) Fry rice = Poor quality... too moist and no taste3) Sushi = poorly made, some were already made and put in the fridge (we sat at sushi bar .. saw everything.. the sushi chef.. poor skill)p.s AE plat = 2 for 50% off... spent 500-ish.. if no AE 1000,

To sum up, I can say

This was my first time having raw lobster... I have to say i prefer cooked lobster because its texture. But the taste was still very fresh (raw) and the wasabi was good with it.
The scallop sashimi was sweet and good.
The tea pot soup arrived next, which was very tasty and very cute.
The crab congee was good, you could see the generous amount of crab meat and we had the lobster head added to it for flavour.
The bill was 50% after because of the AE plat card.
next time i am determined to order the grilled dishes!

Had lunch at Miso last Sunday. Couldn't have been more disappointed.

We ordered two sushi sets. Being seated at the sushi counter, we had a good view of food being prepared and put on the countertop before it was served to customers. When our sushi set came onto the counter-top, I noticed steam coming out from the sushi. Among what was ordered was tamago yaki. Both sets had it as our little one was a great fan of it. Steam was coming out from the tamago yaki. What shocked me was that the tamago yaki was placed back to back with the other sushi pieces like toro and uni, literally being squashed together. The second set soon came on the countertop. Steam was coming out again and pieces of sushi stood on the plate back to back.

I pointed out to the chef that it was clearly not acceptable to put raw sushi back to back with steaming hot food. The chef gave me a sideway glance and totally ignored me - no gesture, no acknowledgment, no facial expression, didn't even bat an eyelid. A waiter heard me complaining and came along immediately. He assured me that the tamago yaki was not hot but wascold and it was icy vapour I was seeing. I tried the tamago yaki and it was hot! While he was smart enough to have acted fast and shown some courtesy to a disgruntled customer, he clearly led me up the garden path. Not very helpful, to say the least.

The story did not end there and then. When I picked up the sushi with chopsticks, it virtually fell apart. It was very loosely rolled and the rice did not stick at all. So, they did not use Japanese rice! The set cost $188. It's on special, regular being like $250 or thereabouts, as advertised. While it was not very pricey, it was not cheap either. For that price, one would have legitimately expected genuine Japanese rice.

Apart from our group, there were about four or five tables within sight. I think the restaurant owners must ponder why their restaurant is deserted at lunchtime on Sunday and do something about it.

星期五,陽光普照,但間唔中都落吓啲失魂雨。友人J公幹前夕,與太座相約在中環晚飯,所選之處係位於怡和大廈嘅Miso。此店是眾多美心集團旗下食肆之一,不得不佩服伍氏家族經營餐飲業嘅能耐。此店提供日式料理,由壽司到鐵板燒,應有盡有。店內裝潢走中高格調,但價錢走大眾化路線,無怪乎晚市座無虛席。可惜,走唔出快餐店的感覺,太多人聲,聲浪大得令人有點頭痛。友人J與筆者各自嗌了鐵板燒套餐,太座則點了窩仔烏冬($100)。另外,大家額外叫了鹽燒雞翼($38)及雜錦天婦羅($115)。友人J嘅鐵板燒牛柳($178),牛柳粒受熱不平均,導致某些過熟,食落又老又韌,有些則剛剛好,反映鐵板燒師傅技術水平幼嫩,處理牛柳粒未能得心應手。筆者嘅配搭係雞柳加銀鱈魚($165),雞柳燒得尚算唔錯,肉質保持多汁嫩滑,加上五味粉吊味,效果是可以接受的;相反,銀鱈魚應當是魚油豐富,甘香肥美,但這些特質一律欠奉。魚肉味同嚼蠟,一點味道也沒有。本應比較容易處理嘅食物,但弄得如斯境地,令筆者「大開眼界」。食鐵板燒,炒飯是少不了。飯粒不太乾身,咬落亦不夠挺身,影響口感,不過飯是炒得蠻香的。窩仔烏冬材料有牛肉、冬菇、天婦羅炸蝦、一片日式

友人J嘅鐵板燒牛柳($178),牛柳粒受熱不平均,導致某些過熟,食落又老又韌,有些則剛剛好,反映鐵板燒師傅技術水平幼嫩,處理牛柳粒未能得心應手。筆者嘅配搭係雞柳加銀鱈魚($165),雞柳燒得尚算唔錯,肉質保持多汁嫩滑,加上五味粉吊味,效果是可以接受的;相反,銀鱈魚應當是魚油豐富,甘香肥美,但這些特質一律欠奉。魚肉味同嚼蠟,一點味道也沒有。本應比較容易處理嘅食物,但弄得如斯境地,令筆者「大開眼界」。食鐵板燒,炒飯是少不了。飯粒不太乾身,咬落亦不夠挺身,影響口感,不過飯是炒得蠻香的。

窩仔烏冬材料有牛肉、冬菇、天婦羅炸蝦、一片日式魚蛋、一隻煎蛋及菠菜。烏冬軟硬度剛剛好,牛肉亦鮮嫩味美;鹽燒雞翼燒得入味,鹽嘅鹹味將雞肉香味恰到好處地帶出來;雜錦天婦羅炸漿厚薄不一,食落淡淡的亦冇香味,吸油紙上嘅油漬,亦體現了廚師嘅功力。

埋單共銀六百三十蚊,平均每人二百一十蚊,差不多二百蚊就有天婦羅及鐵板燒食,是故前文謂之大眾化價錢。不過,要食有水準嘅日本料理,錢是不能慳的。

However, if you are looking for a more down-to-earth and casual one, you might have trouble coming up with a suggestion. I can think of maybe just 3 or so within this category and MISO @ Jardine House is one of the few in my list. We arrived around 630pm for an early dinner and the place was pretty empty. However, with 100000000 free tables, the staff had to assign the two of us to a table in between two large crowds in the very corner of the restaurant. Of course we objected and we were assigned another table away from the large crowds in the other end of the restaurant. Now with 100000000 minus 1 tables left, the staff had to assign the next incoming customer(s) to a table beside us! What the ... !! And additional problem was that the seating arrangement was very closely packed, adding an extra sense of tightness to the seating comfort I was looking for.

(1) Sirloin Beef Rolls

Nothing surprising here. A fair dish that resembled "golden mushroom beef rolls". I personally think it would taste pretty much the same if normal beef were used instead of sirloin. The sauce was a little bit salty but it was acceptable and went well with the beef.

(2) OX tongue - Sweet Pepper + Cucumbers
Although it was under the teppanyaki section, it does not seem or taste like so. The Ox tongue seemed to be just a result of a simple pan-fried cooking process with the diced sweet pepper + cucumbers poured over the top. The sauce was slightly sweet and matched the Ox tongue pretty good.

(3) Grilled Cod fish with Miso Paste

I like fish, I like cod and I like grilled cod very much! A good source for my daily intake of Omega 3! It was well prepared and full of "fish oil." A simple but tasty dish to my liking. Also, the portion was more generous than expected. Thumbs up !

(4) Grilled Eel - Ginger Rice
A highly recommended dish by my friend and I was impressed too. The eel was good but I particularly liked the ginger rice. Only if more ginger can be used than it would have been even better. The ginger was minced very fine and mixed well together with the rice. The key was that the ginger flavor was just right, not overly strong.

(5) Hot Pot Udon
There were plenty of ingredients(ie: Beef slices and tempura) and the udon was very chewy which was good. Only after the meal was I told by my friend Lucy that the Inaniwa undon here is good as well. Maybe next time. One thing I noticed was that the egg on top of the udon was very "well done," I thought it should have been more or less raw for us to mix with the udon and soup.

3) 雜錦剌身(6款): 有三文魚, 吞拿魚, 象拔蚌, 帶子, 赤貝和甜蝦, 吃剌身只要材料夠靚已經足夠, 美心集團的水準一向有保證, 所以也不用多作介紹了!

4) 蒜香牛柳粒: 鐵板燒的菜色, 也是我由第一次幫襯起就每次都點的菜色. 雖則有時水準不均(因為要視乎那天的牛肉夠不夠靚), 但今天吃到的是靚的牛柳, 肉嫩多汁, 好味!

5) 香煎牛舌: 另一鐵板燒菜色, 厚切的牛舌粒配上自創的醬汁. 牛舌做得鬆軟, 也不會有膩的感覺, Miso一向處理厚身牛舌有一手, 也是香港少有供應厚身牛舌菜色而又做得好好的餐廳(再高一級價錢也多一個dub的貴價日本料理不計!), 如果閣下是牛舌的fans, 來這裡一定要點來試試!

6) 迷你網燒牛肉飯: 沒錯... 又是牛... 因為二人都是牛魔王! 這個牛肉飯曾經是我的必點午餐! 水準依舊, 好吃!

吃得很滿足的一餐! 再配上我至愛的梅子梳打, 爽耶~~~~!
