The lobster starters were colorful and appetizing. My favorite was the croquette though the lobster roll with its yuzu flavors, came to a close second. I also love how they use iceberg lettuce to susbsitute the the usual taco wrapping to make it more refreshing for the hot weather. The only point I felt they would improve was the lobster bisque. It tasted great but it was only warm when served. I guess this was due to the cup not being preheated and given the bisque is only a small cupfull, the bisque likely cooled down immediately when poured into the cup.

We all ordered the lobster thermidor and the filling was amazing with plenty of lobster while the sauce was not too oily. Remember to order a second serving of bread to soak up all the excess sauce as it was that delicious.

It’s flavourful and matched well with the traditional Singaporean ginger and lemongrass poached chicken. The chicken was tender as expected and the chopped ginger was less salty, which was great! As I liked the ginger taste to add to the taste of the chicken rather than having the saltiness from that overpowering the chicken. I also loved the soup.

It has higher value when you order the lunch sets, as you can select any main course from the menu and pair that up with soup/starter or dessert, very flexible. If you order just the Hainan Chicken, it’s already $298 + 10%. When you make it into a 2-course menu (one starter or soup + one main; or one main + one dessert), it’s $378 + 10%, or for those who have a larger appetite to have a 3-course, it’s $418 + 10%, which is reasonable for a 5-star, long-established hotel in Central.
