上個星期帶阿bee(我隻狗)去沖涼見到對開咗間新嘢, 咁咪同班朋友去食吓囉..我哋一入到去個waitess姐姐推介咗好多菜式比我哋, 結果我哋就叫咗隔離枱食緊嗰個三角豆牛肚同蕃茄炒蜆...嗰個三角豆牛肚味道不錯, 有少許辣辣哋都幾好味, 食吓食吓原來仲有排骨係入面,d牛肚煮得好入味......跟住再講吓個蕃茄炒蜆啦, 其實嗰d唔係蜆係花甲(貴嘢嚟架)炒得好好味仲好新鮮, 賣相都好得...我哋就梗係唔只食咁少嘢啦, 我哋仲叫咗caesar salad同鹽燒排骨,味道都不錯, 仲有一個不得不提既免治蛋炒飯, 真係好好味, 好特別, 佢係將d肉同d薯仔炒埋一齊, 跟住仲有隻蛋放係嗰飯上面, 渾埋一齊食真係好好味.... 嚟個飯好似lunch都有得食架...我哋食咁多嘢埋單每人都係兩百蚊咗右...價錢都ok啦....大家都可以去試吓....p.s. 竟然個餐前包包係熱辣辣, 真係頂瓜瓜, keep住就好啦...~!!!

晚晚出街食飯,乜菜都試勻,開始滿足唔倒我既味覺 ..... 因為我份人最鍾意試新?! 於是上Open Rice look look,搵d新菜試?! 就係咁.....比我搵到呢間七月頭先開張既葡國餐廳, ?灣仔船街,餐廳外觀都幾有特式,?門外都可望到廚師烹調既情況.當晚我同個friend兩個人,先叫左個caesar salad, 個sauce真係好特別, 令人胃口大開, 小食叫左碟馬介休球, 味道比我係澳門食到既好食, 無咁"咸", 再黎一碟蕃茄炒蜆, 用蕃茄黎炒感覺好鮮甜, 值得一試! 跟住叫左碟三角豆牛肚同澳門炒飯, 牛肚好入味, 炒飯味道都ok. 叫埋兩個drinks, 埋單平均每人220到, 同區黎講差唔多, 唔算貴, 可以約埋三五知己落去試多d唔同既菜式.

When I realized there is going to be a new Portuguese place opening in Wan Chai, I couldn't bring myself into an episode of nostalgia through my childhood family trips to Macau. While the quality of these meals in present day Macau has gone down, replaced by newer joints of "fusion cuisine" resturants opened by those who has probably never bitten into a proper Portuguese sausage before, I realized that a place called Nino's Cozinha, aka "Nino's Kitchen", should be either an honest joint that serves 'real food', or another pretentious joint with those 'fusion' stuff. I was wrong to think the latter.

Entering a narrow L-shaped dining room against an open coffee bar. The wall of old black and white pictures caught my eye. A collection of images of Old Hong Kong and some candid family photos were right on the side. Joe Ozorio, one of the owners, introduced me to lunch options of sandwiches or a choice of main course between pork chops or "Spicy Chicken". There is no menu for Lunch, but looking into the one for dinner, a wide selection of dishes from Pepper Prawns, clams in tomato and white wine sauce, to tripe stew with chickpeas and oxtail stews are safe choices of simple food. During the wait for my soup du jour (cream of celery and corn), all homemade as they described, and a killer-caesar salad with homemade dressing, Joe and the staff filled me in on some family stories behind this restaurant. (which, you will get to hear from them when you visit. I'll just focus on the food part)

The cream soup is as described, with chockful of corn and a light taste of celery. It did not remind me of a Campbell's moment, which is good. The accompanied bread is warmed through served with butter. Caesar salad is a shallow dish of bite-sized romaine with a dressing lightly coating the leaves. The crispy lettuce salad is good, yet the serving is too big. But then of course if you intend to add in one of those house-roasted ham or beef (they use no deli meats) then it will make a light lunch option. Of course you can order one of their proud and bold sandwiches with traditional Portugese bread too!

Spicy chicken ended up not very spicy but flavourful throughout. The breast is equally moist as the thighs, as half a chicken is presented bone-in and arranged. The skin is crispy even when it's cooled down. Chow-Chow (Portuguese fried rice) is a colorful mix of diced bell pepper, Portuguese sausage and blood pudding. The addition of blood pudding is something new for me, and it worked out just fine. The servings can be quite big and I certainly will recommend bringing a friend, or a few as you can try different dishes at night.

In the midst of this joyful meal, one of the cooks came out to check on my progress. She was particularly delighted to share more stories regarding the soup I was having. I asked her for some tips on making Caldo Verde, the famed Portugese 'green soup' at home. We swapped kitchen stories and had a blast between bites. Then I realized, that the opening of Nino's Cozinha has more to do then just serving food like any other resturants. The Ozorio family intends to share with Hong Kong-ers the kind of family food -- the simplicity of it all. As eating out nowadays are so common among us, instead of tasting the same foods over and over again, we are welcomed in open arms by the introduction of something new and foreign and unfamiliar. Even if we know what the cuisine is all about, each time we try something new it opens our eyes to see a bigger picture. And most of all sharing food as well as the love of it all is any cook's dream.

Business aside, the food has been good, and in the process there is more to the food as well. The owner will introduce some more of their Ozorio Family Classic dishes and the famed Portuguese Custard Tarts in August. Everything new is pouring in for the new Portuguese place, and all it takes is the sense of adventure to explore something new for us, and the love of sharing with others the joy of something we enjoy in common -- food and everything about it.

這間小店, 開了幾天, 因為覺得外貌不錯, 門外有幾張吧椅, 可以一邊飲野一邊吃小食, 也可抽煙, 因為是戶外嗎原來也有早餐的, 好似是上午8:30開市的, 星期天就是上午10:00 時, 也有下午茶時段的, 可以外賣呀選了 一個行政套餐, 包 凱撒沙津/湯, 選沙津, 不錯, 主菜選了 紅豆排骨, 是店主推介(好似有四款不同價錢的選), 紅豆都是用大腰豆的, 排骨蚊得好好味呀, 醬汁連飯吃, 好好味呀, 有甜品--木槺布丁, 茶, $128朋友就叫了葡國咖喱雞, 用白內熱瓦罉上的, 好熱辣辣的感覺, 雞好嫩滑, 不是太辣的, 配菜也多, 大家要比澳門的沙利文, 這個可以一併, (原來老闆也是澳門人呀)問問是否會有葡國燒乳豬, 老闆說, 遲些會有, 因為新開, 若要食, 可能都要預訂, 葡式燒乳豬的特式是乳豬皮不像廣東乳豬脆薄薄的, 葡式是乳豬皮都脆會同肉一併吃, 還會有肉汁感, 因為會有抄過的飯墊底, 所以一定要有肉汁感, 所以制作及預備時間要長一點的, 血鴨也是出名的, 這些菜都要大顆食才可以分享到, 否則一定撐死, 因為小店, 所以服務真的好好, 還有兩位年青的厨師在吧台,當客
