My usual onigiri place, Hana Musubi was suddenly replaced by OMUSUBI. A higher end more chic version of their shop. There was originally only one in IFC but now they have another one in Sogo.Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge as it's basically a grab and go take away counter. They have a variety of onigiri all in chic packaging. But their selling point is the soup. They offer 3 different types of soup.As it just opened, they offered a cloth tote bag with their logo with any purchase of two items. And there was a discount on adding on a soup item with any onigiri purchase. So, I got myself two onigiri and a bowl of soup.I wanted the fish soup but they had run out so I got myself a Kurobuto Pork and Vegetables Miso Soup ($48 but there is a discount if you order onigiri). The soup was really good. Lots of ingredients were inside so it became a very filling meal. I found pork, various mushrooms, carrots and onions. There was also this little ball of taro.I got myself two onigiri. Prices are a bit more than their other brand. Probably about $5 more. But was it worth it?Mentaiko Mayo ($24) was filled a lot more than then their regular line. The rice was also a lot fluffier as well. Sea Urchin Sauce with Red Snow Crab ($36) was delicious! Lots of filling with plenty of crab meat. The sauce was umami rich as well.It seems this line had more filing to rice ratio. Though a bit more expensive than the regular line, it was worth it though I think I'd go to to the regular one more often as it is cheaper and they do a lot of really excellent deals. But every so often I would come here as the soup was really good.
