還未點菜侍應生便先送來麵包。沒有跟任何牛油,牛油控可會失望。

其實麵包沒跟牛油是有原因的,因為麵包已經加料,而且左右兩邊的配搭用料也不相同。

帶子單看很大粒,不過由於被火腿緊緊包着,目測可能推斷不出帶子的實際大小。還是直接來過解剖好了。帶子切開,火腿真的只是薄薄的一片,內裡就是實實在在的厚切帶子,童叟無欺!

帶子厚實飽滿,肉質爽甜,與煎得帶有焦香的火腿同吃,火腿油香與帶子味道出奇地配搭。與伴有的香檳牛油醬汁同吃,更覺惹味。

可以看見很多龍蝦肉的意大利飯。不過以索價將近四佰元的價錢,我是期望可以看到原隻蝦鉗的出現。可惜最後就只看見已被切開的一塊塊龍蝦肉混在意大利飯中。蝦肉份量總算不少。

吃一口意大利飯,半生熟的飯粒很有嚼口。當中的龍蝦肉算是爽口,不過味道似乎有點兒被意大利飯中的火腿粒蓋過。

爲什麼意大利飯當中會有火腿肉的呢? 仔細閲讀餐牌, 原來意大利飯當中混有一種叫chorizo的食材。Chorizo的中文乃西班牙香腸(又是學習英文生字時間),味道鹹香有嚼勁。不過個人覺得味道太搶不適合跟龍蝦放在一起,白白浪費把龍蝦鮮味蓋過。

餐牌上亦有提及意大利飯混有珍貴香料番紅花(Saffron). ,不過不知道是否份量下得太少,感受不到番紅花的香氣。

牛扒伴醬汁同上。醬汁有八種選擇之多!茫無頭緒下索性叫侍應生推薦一種醬汁給我們。侍應生說蒜頭紅酒汁最受歡迎,所以我們也照侍應生推薦點了這個醬汁。除了醬汁,牛扒還伴有洋葱,蒜頭,海鹽及後加的芥末(也是從五六款中按侍應生推介選了其中一種芥末),算是頗為正宗的食法。

只可用不過不失來形容。首先,牛扒表面烤得不夠焦,吃不到外焦內軟的感覺。裡面牛扒肉色嫩紅,不過肉香沒想像中來得激烈,肉汁亦不算豐盈,牛扒邊位一條厚厚的肥膏亦略嫌太過礙眼。整體感覺中規中舉,不會難吃,但亦不難忘。伴少許鹽來吃感覺肉味會突出一點。

主菜未能拍案叫絕,反而甜品卻是令人喜出望外。

拖肥批變成獨立的隨性製作,形去而神仍在。忌廉,拖肥及牛油餅三種不同口感的食材同時吃下,層次豐富甜而不漏,另一出色甜品

吃罷甜品,感覺滿足。甜品與頭盤竟然比主菜更出色,着實令人有點始料不及。

另一令人意外的地方,是吃到差不多八時過後,食客方始陸續到來。去到差不多八時半左右,全場爆滿!原來這個時候才是中環晚飯的高峰時候,真是愈夜愈美麗………

因為是慶祝結婚周年,甜品上也寫了我倆的名字和2nd Wedding Anniversary的字句,足以看到餐廳對我倆的貼心服務!

這餐廳實在是品嚐頂級牛排最好地方,尤其適合情侶或夫婦二人同去慶祝紀念日!

My friend and I like to go try new restaurant so we set up dinner gatherings for once a month to try places which we never been to before.  My friend picked Shore this time.  It's in L place which I won't usually walk to there unless I go for massage around there.The restaurant is quite decent with nice deco.  They have two floors which the restaurant is on the upper floor and the bar is at the lower floor.  I think it's a nice place to chill out with your friends and I saw a group of people cam

The restaurant is quite decent with nice deco.  They have two floors which the restaurant is on the upper floor and the bar is at the lower floor.  I think it's a nice place to chill out with your friends and I saw a group of people came for birthday celebration.

Most of the steaks here come in 12oz or 16oz, which is a bit too much for a girl.  We therefore decided to share, and we had a starter, a 16oz steak and some sides.

It was slowly cooked so the skin was very crispy while the texture of the meat is short.  It's like chinese roast pork (燒肉) but softer and less salty.  It came with the a cream sauce, which added some flavour to the meat.

Here comes the main!  I loved it....it was superb.  It's dry aged so you could feel the texture when chewing.  We had medium rare so you could still have the juiciness.  It comes with a sauce (we pickedd red wine sauce) but we didn't really had to use it at all.

We had mac & cheese as the side.  This was average only though.  It was too creamy and didn't have enough cheese.  It was also a bit too salty for me.

Overall, the quality of food and service is really good here.  The price is okay and we had 10% off for paying with american express platinum credit card.  I would definitely visit this place again.

The Place: Shore is situated on both the 3rd floor and 4th floor of L. Place with around 4,000 square feet of floor area each. Shore split its venue into two parts with the 4th floor for dining experiences and a lounge and bar area on the 3rd floor. I had the chance to be part of Shore’s 4th Year Anniversary which took place on the 3rd floor of the venue on October 8th 2014.

The Food & Beverage: Shore is not only a chic and contemporary place with an impressive 1,800 square feet terrace overlooking Sheung Wan, but also designed to properly entertain people and let people network. This 4th Year Anniversary Party was not only super well organized but also gave us the opportunity to network with classy guests while being overwhelmed with free drinks and hors d'oeuvre and fabulous music. As the thermometer dropped, it felt refreshing to go back outside to eat and drink beneath the stars. Apart from drinks served at the indoor bar, we were able to order drinks to our outdoor tables; the service staff was very attentive and friendly, and they tried their utter best to please everyone equally. Every now and then, platters with fresh and delectable hors d'oeuvre passed our tables - we were able to sample a few of these mouthwatering dishes, however we could not - though we tried very hard - catch enough to fill our stomachs. We decided to place a few orders later on, and everything we ordered was very delicious and was also presented super attractively.

we had mac and cheese and roasted mushroom for sides, both were prepared beautifully. mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy everything i look for. roasted mushroom was full of flavour, big portion too, always good to have some veggie, right?

個人很喜歡牛,亦喜歡吃steak tartare,但不是每間店都做得好吃;而shore的,是出乎意料的適合我的口味,適合我口味是因為這裡牛沒有切得很大粒,面積比較細小;當中混合了很多cornichons,,cornichons的酸,能夠帶出生牛的牛味;當中亦混了不同的herbs,掩蓋了不必要的牛腥味;上來時已經混合了雞蛋,不用自己再混來混去,混得一榻糊塗。
而旁邊的麵包非常軟身,用來伴steak tartare很棒。

吃完美味的tartare後,便到我喜歡的海鮮,先吃的是帶子;帶子看似易做,但做得好未必人人可以。這份帶子被海膽汁包圍著,頂層還有一片crispy pancetta。海膽汁做得十分creamy,海膽味不算很濃郁,不會搶走了帶子的鮮,但又能為整道菜錦上添花;而那片香脆的pancetta,增加口感之餘,那份輕輕的鹹香能帶出帶子的鮮味。而主角帶子,當然是一絕的好吃,帶子十分新鮮,廚房把帶子烹調得很好,熟度剛好,軟稔又彈牙。真的很喜歡這道菜式,沒有人和我搶之下吃了3粒,十分滿足。

吃完4款頭盤後,便到我最喜歡的牛扒了;這裡的dry-aged是由店方自家製造的,而dry-aged的牛扒一般比普通的牛扒濃郁;經過dry-aged後,牛扒還會經過slow cook,因為經過slow cook,部份的牛扒已經"熟了",然後再經炭燒;所以當中的顏色亦比較平均。這牛扒,外層充滿了很強烈的炭香,這種炭香,不是人人受得到,對我來說有點過火,如果烘烤時間短些會更好;而肉質方面,不算十分嫩,但算是不錯的;看上去雖沒有甚麼脂肪,卻每一口都有脂香,牛味方面亦算濃郁;個人認為都算不錯。
來也匆匆,去也匆匆地享受完這頓美味午餐;吃時亦問問公關,為什麼這裡的食評如此一般? 大家也不明白呢。 只想說句,這裡的食物真的不俗。

(4) Having been let down by Shore’s appetisers, the restaurant suddenly charmed us when it came to the main courses. Shore is so serious about its steaks that it has its very own “Meat Bible”, which details a wide variety of choice cuts from steak producing countries all over the world. This charcoal grilled Cape Grim Hanging Tender Steak, served with wild sauteed wild mushroom and potato gratin was bound to impress. We asked for medium rare and it was exactly what we got. The steak had a pliable, tender texture and the meaty flavours were gorgeous and intense.

(6) After having some excellent fish and steak, the crispy skinned pork belly was just what we needed. The pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth soft, and was served with pea puree, and pineapple chutney, which had scrumptious pineapple bits in it. The fruitiness of the pineapple chutney was a perfect complement with the fatty pork belly, adding a citrus touch to the meat while allowing it to keep its character. However, it was misleading to describe the pork as “crispy skinned”, as the skin wasn’t that crispy at all. The pork belly tasted like Chinese braised pork (in a nice way), and it was a really delightful dish!

(7) I was completely amazed by the confit duck and wild mushroom strozzapreti, to the extent that I didn’t remember to take a photo before I dug into it! Strozzapreti is a type of hand-rolled pasta with a funny elongated shape. The pasta was incredibly al dente; the duck confit had an excellent texture and magnificent taste, and was nicely shredded and scattered over the pasta. This awesome dish was then topped with a few delicate slices of grated Parmesan and a small bunch of rocket leaves – it was absolutely gorgeous!

當然要往室外打探一番,室外的氣氛不比室內差,除兩個被預訂的帳篷外均全場爆滿了,絕大部份是外藉人仕。四邊的角落均設置了白色大帳篷,帳蓬內有舒適的圓型沙發、茶几等,頂裝亦裝有圓風扇可助降温,感覺是沙特油王在沙漠的豪華裝備。相信秋涼時會是一個很不錯的聚腳點。

咬開後,一陣 Creamy 磨菇湯的濃香包裹著小小的 Risoto,吃不出 Risoto 硬硬半生熟的質感,但磨菇湯及 Truffle Mayo 的香氣卻是很惹人,Mushroom Arancini 香味濃郁勝於一切!

最終我們決定不嘗 Steak 也不上樓用餐了,是餐廳氣氛嚇怕我們,還是 Cocktail 的錯?

我們就好像冒險家駕駛船隻到荒島,拋下了錨之後,4個冒險家只在岸邊遊歷,隨後竟完全沒有意識登岸探索,不想再上島冒險了。

The Signature 9 Layer Chocolate Cake(HK$98) — 這朱古力蛋糕給我十分驚喜﹗9層之中,有實心的dark chocolate,有軟綿綿的蛋糕,最重要的是朱古力夠苦,絕對不會太甜,暫時是繼Awfully Chocolate後,我最愛的chocolate cake﹗

 

這裡服務極佳,不停換碟(我們都幾乎想把碟子搶回,因為不想浪費呢),店員彬彬有禮,食物水準亦佳,絕對值得一試﹗(是晚每位消費約HK$500)

great atmosphere especially the bar. once we walked up is quiet, not too many tables with guests but we were assign to a table next to the big pole. which is quite isolated. wonder why they put us here while lots of empty tables around us. food is not so good, especially the oyster, very bad. steak is so so and not worth for that amount of pice. service is not as good as expected.

Had an intense craving for steak so decided to come to Shore to try out their steaks. Arrived around 7pm, the dining area was pretty much empty. They have an upstairs dining area and downstairs is more lounge with an outside patio. I started my meal with a glass of Chardonnay, then came the bread. The bread was served nice and hot! There was no shortage of crab in this dish. I really liked the harissa sauce under the crab cakes, it had a mayonnaise base though it seemed.

Next up was the steak tartare

I'm not usually a big fan of steak tartare as sometimes I find the tartare to be really chunky. But this steak tartare was really good, they had the perfect blend of condiments. YOu can really taste the onion's in it. It came with a side of bread, but I only had a small piece of the bread as I was saving my stomach for the highlight of the meal.

We ordered it medium with the mushroom sauce. It came out on a large wooden board, and the server slices it right in front of you. It had a clove of roasted garlic on the side that melted with the steak. The steak was cooked perfectly!! Very moist and juicy. 16oz between 2 people is actually just perfect. The mushroom sauce was a bit too rich with the steak I preferred English mustard with it.

This steak definitely satisfied my craving for steak. Really enjoyed it and will be back when the next steak craving strikes!
