Having had one of the best dining experiences at Frantzén’s Kitchen, we were excited to dine at The Flying Elk - 3-michelin starred chef, Björn Frantzén’s second resto in hk.The Flying Elk also offers Nordic inspired cuisine, but at a relatively casual setting.I have to be honest though - I kind of have mixed feelings for this place🙈🙊_About the food🍽So, there were a few hit and misses but food was nice in general.▫️Foie gras and chicken liver parfait $155 🥪Loved the foie gras & chicken liver parfait! Crispy brioche topped with onion chutney, fragrant shrooms, creamy chicken liver parfait and foie gras... mmm🤤 just wished the foie gras could’ve been richer in flavour but def a satisfying starter!▫️Roasted scallops $185 🐚the roasted scallops were lovely too. Scallops were beautifully cooked, and paired with truffle, buerre noisette, smoked soy, crispy potato and super creamy scrambled eggs (so creamy it’s almost like mashed potatoes!)▫️Sticky toffee pudding $80 🍮and that sticky toffee pudding‼️ moist, gooey, and the ginger butterscotch sauce is absolutely to die for! Love the bit of heat it gives off and how it’s not overly sweet! dare say it’s one of the best in town!😻▫️Ox ribs rossini $295 🐮Veal schnitzel “Björn Frantzén” $280 🥓for mains, the ox ribs rossini and schnitzel were nice too. Butttt the schnitzel to us just deemed a good schnitzel and nothing too much a of surprise🙈 the red wine jus was nice, the anchovy buerre noisette was beautiful, but we were definitely expecting something more refined given it’s considered as one of their signatures🙈 and the size was HUGE! Good if you’re sharing among a group but a bit heavy for two if you have another main, especially since the coating is very dry. So stuffed it felt like we had to force food into our stomachs🙈 Had no choice but to give it up:/ (we always try our best to clean our plates!) Perhaps we just aren’t much of a schnitzel person haha🙈🙈▫️and the cocktails didn’t really suit our taste either🙈_About service🕴🏻Service was welcoming and enthusiastic☺️ but here’s the thing - 1. we booked a bench table but they forgot and brought us to a dining area table (we did get to sit at the bench table at last so it’s ok), and 2. We were there for a celebration and asked if we could get a message written in the dessert plate beforehand, but they completely forgot about it 🙈 not like it’s a big deal but def things they could improve on🙊_overall, good vibes, friendly service & decent food. but we were def expecting more from that price and michelin star reputation🙈

a Nordic restaurant, conceptualised by three star Michelin Swedish chef Björn Frabtzén. The balcony is perfect for a relaxing afternoon away from the city crowds (yet not far from it). It has a really cool vibe here (and the bar looks amazing) cannot wait to have my happy hour here next!Lunch set:$198 - 2 course$298 - 3 course. But I went during , a 3 course set was only $198Salmon tartare, beautifully plated by the chef in impeccable manner .CRISPY BATTER, SOFT FLAKEY FISH w/ perfectly seasoned CRUNCHY, FLUFFY CHIPS 🍟 (wanted to dip it into ketchup right away, until I was asked to first try it on its own - then realise the chips are just so well flavoured, it's so enjoyable just to eat it without any sauce).Swedish Coffee & Vanilla Crème Brulee topped with toasted hazelnuts - definitely not your ordinary creme brulee 😉

The Flying Elk, a Nordic inspired restaurant from Stockholm. We have ordered three starters and a main with side salad. Three starters:- Roasted scallop (a must to order in Nordic restaurant) - Lobster Roll- Steak tartare (full portion with chilli fries) Main:Quail and Foie Gras (must try if you like foie gras, tender quail and foie gras match perfectly) The lobster roll is good but not amazing, would prefer NY style personally. I will definitely come back for the roasted scallop; quail and foie gras and chilli fries.
