Passed by this itlian restaurant so many times and got attracted by their eye-catching shopfront, finally got the chance to try out their free flow weekend brunch!😛We chose the one with Appetizers + Main + Dessert + 2-hrs free flow at HKD498 pp with Procescco😛 The appetizer consisted of so many food: ceaser salad, burrata cheese with parma ham (👍🏻), mussels in white wine sauce (cold and not washed throughly, there was sand in the mussels😥) and the platter in the middle. The smoked salmon and cold cuts were quite average, however the fried calami was cold and not crispy at all, which was a bit disappointing😐 Seems like they have pre-cook all the appetizers. For main course, we chose pan-fried in creamy spinach sauce and their signature mushroom & cheese pizza. Both were surprisingly good (at least hot and freshly made haha lol). The skin of cod was crispy while the meat was juicy and soft. The pizza was definitely the highlight of the meal!! The dough was chewy and perfectly grilled, with a slight char at the crusts. The portion of mushroom and cheese were so generous and satisying!🥰🤤 Definitely recommended! For dessert we had tiramisu and profiteroles, which were average as well. The restaurant is decorated in a classic style with spacious seats & tables, great place for gatherings and having a drink with friends. Overall, nothing to complain at this price with free flow processo and great pizza! 😊 continue reading

Known for their printed blue walls and beautiful interior, 208 Duecento Otto by Jia Group has been around for 10+ years now and I’ve only recently made my way to try out this casual Italian eatery. 🇮🇹 We ordered 1 of each brunch set: Appetisers + One Dessert - $248 hkd & Appetisers + One Main + One Dessert - $308 hkd Pic 1️⃣&2️⃣: Appetiser Platter: Parma Ham and Burrata Pugliese DOP, Porchetta Cold Cuts and Black Truffle, Homemade Marinated Salmon, Caesar Salad, Mussels Marinara, Deep-Fried Calamari — Was super impressed by this spread of appetisers that not only looks good, but tasted amazing! Everything on here was really flavourful and well executed. A favourite of mine was the parma ham and burrata, as the burrata was super creamy and went perfectly with the ham.Pic 3️⃣&4️⃣: Homemade Chitarrino Abruzzese Pasta (茄汁里考塔芝士手工意粉) 🍝 — I’ve heard so many good things about their pasta and of course it did not disappoint. Their homemade pasta had an amazing chewy texture to it and wascooked to a perfect al-dente. The tomato sauce really stole the show here as it was intensely flavourful and rich, with a deep savoury taste to it. Topped with dried ricotta, it made the sauce even more rich and smooth.Pic 5️⃣: Profiteroles — Pretty good! Though I thought there was a super strong cinnamon and spice taste to the choux pastry which clashed slightly with the chocolate and cream. Good way to end the meal.Pic 6️⃣: Classic Tiramisu — The tiramisu was pretty dry as the lady fingers hadn’t been sufficiently soaked with coffee & marsala which really affected the texture of it. The mascarpone was pretty smooth and not overly sweet. Taste was alright but texture needs some work. Desserts were a bit underwhelming in comparison to the other parts of the meal.📍Ambiance 8.5/10 - seating is spacious, interior is nice, staff are polite and helpful.⭐️Would visit again?: Yes! 🙌🏻 continue reading

My wife and I visited on a weekend and the brunch menu was a good deal at around $300 per person for a generous set of starters followed by a main and dessert each. I liked the lasagna and tiramisu although my wife didn’t like the consistency of her linguine. What stood out to us most was the rudeness of the staff, from the hostess who didn’t make eye contact and wouldn’t seat us because it was 7 minutes before the official opening (but then sat somebody else a minute later because they were hosting a party), to the server who hard-core judged me for ordering a digestif *before* the meal and wouldn’t take the order (I stuck with water instead). The food was a good value, even if my wife didn’t love her main, but we won’t return because of the staff. continue reading

continue reading
