To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. 近期就係不斷想食牛，咁朋友就建議不如去食牛涮鍋可以食個飽啦，於是我哋就殺咗去牛涮鍋啦。食得牛涮鍋，就係瘋狂叫牛啦，我哋個set係澳洲和牛，所以梗係瘋狂食，尤其打邊爐，夾一塊滾一塊即刻食嘅滋味實在係太正啦。除咗牛，餐廳都有好多其他火鍋料例如丸呀、蔬菜呀等等，亦都有熟食，我就鐘意個炒飯(又或者係我天生係飯桶)。值得一講嘅就係哩間牛涮鍋嘅蔬菜十分新鮮十分靚，我最驚就係d菜梅梅爛爛咁，而新解蔬菜就啱啱好幫我哩個食肉獸平衡一下。最後我同朋友都食到要捧住個肚走。又係溫馨提示，晚市太多人啦，大家要早d去等位。
