To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 北京樓 - 一個每逢有老外到訪的必然選擇,理由不是因為菜做得出色,而是一切老外有興趣的東西都包羅萬有,一應俱全.......是夜又逢有老外朋友到臨,不想多加思索,只好「舊地重遊」算罷。在老外的眼中北京填鴨彷彿就是中國菜的另一個代號。沒有了北京填鴨的一頓中菜,就會被認為是不太完整,欠缺什麼似的。我對此菜的感覺實屬非常一般,可能是做得出色的烤鴨店就如鳳毛麟角,沒有幾家。多年前洋朋友招呼我到倫敦鼎鼎大名的 Mr. Chow 飯店吃過一頓有如古埃及木乃伊般的填鴨,想起來也是觸目驚心,餘悸猶存。在香港,像樣的烤鴨店也同屬罕見,沒有果木炭火,用上的也只能是冰鮮瘦肉型鴨,閣下不想而知這樣的填鴨能有多棒......對不起,北京樓的「數碼化」填鴨絕對不會帶給老饗任何驚喜。皮脆還稱得上,肉卻不怎麼樣地嫩。當侍應生將填鴨「凌遲」時,讌請的老外朋友目不轉睛地看過不停,隨後又吃得津津有味的表情便知道這老地方又挑對了。沒有酒味的醉雞,欠缺燻味的茉莉茶燻素鵝實在令人嚼得乏勁。最不濟的莫如那碟用上陳年花生米炒出來的宮保雞丁,最後當然就是勞煩經理出來打圓場取消此菜作罷......剛好北京拉麵端出來時年青師傅正表演拉麵絕

剛好北京拉麵端出來時年青師傅正表演拉麵絕技,老外當然看過目瞪口呆,讚嘆不巳,麵還未嚥下,心理上巳覺得是好東西。我看到的卻是一碟油膩不堪,中間夾雜一些像肉末多於像肉絲的東西與麵條混在一起 - 差勁!

記憶中北京樓的水平是沒有這般低劣,雖然這些菜色對洋先生來說巳是合格有餘,但畢竟「有朋自遠方來」,將連自己也過不了關的東西用來款客,心裡是有點不是味兒。

對打著旗號專門招待遊客的食肆,一般我都不抱任何期望。可是沒有期望與失望又是兩碼子事,但當我看到洋朋友開懷大嚼,滿意之情溢於臉上時,我又懷疑是否有必要再重新另找一個「必然之選」的地方招呼洋朋友......
