To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 今天(星期六)放假,家姐話請我飲茶補祝生日,便和媽媽去新都城間翠園試下,但係卻一肚氣。話說我們點零鐘去到,等了一會兒便有位,係點心紙選了六樣點心,交俾侍應生,但等了半個鐘有多都未見食物送來,發覺唔多妥,請一位侍應check下是否漏單,該服務員一口就答:“唔會漏單嘅。”不過幾分鐘後她回來說:“無落單喎,你搵邊個同你落單架?”無落單都算,仲問我搵邊個落?我點知佢係邊個?依家飲茶落單要問佢個姓名的嗎?已經火火地,唯有馬上攞張點心紙再剔過,點知呢個服務員企係我身邊,好大聲咁話:“快啲啦!”我即時扯火,反問佢:“點解要快啲呀?”佢先至話:“我幫你落番單啦!”之後唔咁再出聲。食物送上來,一般,並非特別好吃,價錢卻一點也不便宜,而且呢間翠園的座位擠逼,枱貼枱。期間更不時見到呢個服務員食到成口食物,趙住咁行出黎做野。唔係唔可以食,但係做服務行業,特別係飲食業,係咪唔應該係客人面前食呢?結帳後忍不住都要向酒樓經理反映。相信酒樓方面真的要加強員工培訓,以免破壞翠園的名聲。
