不過穿鄉郊衣服是不可，只因香島廳的服裝要求甚嚴緊。內裡環境不俗，雅致但不摩登，侍應安排至窗旁的大圓桌，食客紛至，午餐時分以太太、女士、網球教練居多，食客進食時仍能保持寧靜。
由於主人家早已預約並預留菜餚，齊人後便酌量多添便成。點心是以每人一蒸籠上桌，內有蝦餃、燒賣、牛肉燒賣、豆苗餃、小籠包各一，每款是精緻美味，還有各式腸粉、中式包點，點心類絕對媲美甚至超越城中某些星級食肆，難怪會方極力推薦；餐前小吃如炸春卷、炸蟹球、鹵水食品同樣出色；燒味拼盤，叉燒、油雞、燒鵝、燻蹄、海蜇等等，叉燒猶甚，燒得香嫩軟身，上的醬汁剛好，難怪最快吃盡；燒鵝、油雞同樣出色，每款也是剛熟，肉身嫩滑。
據聞他們的招牌雞是值得一試，惟是次未能提供，便吃了片皮鴨。鴨肉是鮮嫩熱辣，京蔥、醬料、薄包齊全，美味可口；上桌的鮮菜分別是清炒菜心、薑汁炒芥蘭，芥蘭滲有輕輕的薑味；XO醬明蝦球，雖然是香辣美濃，但我不太喜歡XO醬會掩蓋蝦肉的鮮，還好肉身鮮嫩；洋人大多喜歡咕嚕肉，鮮艷顏色增進食欲，酸甜汁緊緊包圍外層，肉質嫩滑，不俗。還有其後的幾款小菜，同樣美味。
荷葉飯、揚州炒飯、干燒伊麵看似平平無奇。荷葉飯是出色，荷香滲透飯粒，配料、飯粒、調味互相配合得宜；炒飯與配料的比例均勻，飯粒完整，味道適中，看似平凡，但細嚼後更見美味，當然伊麵也不例外。
最後的甜品如鮮磨杏仁露、楊枝甘露，外表吸引，熱杏仁露質感不厚亦不稀薄，清香的杏仁鮮味滲至喉嚨，出色；楊枝甘露沒有嚐過，據說也不錯。最後送上鮮果特大拼盤，西瓜、蜜瓜、哈蜜瓜同樣清理舌頭，為整頓飯畫上句號。由於付款只有記賬，費用不詳。
離去後有種鬱悶，原來是想起另一段歌詞，現實中帶點諷刺，與開首那民歌成對比－
