To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 太興是我去過餐廳中光線最充足的一間,顯得碗碟都格外乾淨潔白,且光線充足,使人精神為之一振。我和妹妹點了一碟燒味拼盤和茄子魚煲。燒味拼盤上的叉燒在燈光下發出亮麗的光澤。一咬之下,油汁四溢,且肉味香濃。夾一件雪白的白切雞,放進口裡,果然沒有其他餐廳冰鮮雞的味道。再說茄子魚煲,經過調味而辛辣的茄子使魚煲更為可口,而魚塊吸收了茄子味更成了整煲的靈魂,魚塊外皮嘅脆且薄,不會過於油膩,伴以茄子和豆腐卜,簡直一流。
