To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 太興是港式飲茶餐廳,他們的「午餐肉蛋公仔麵」$38 是香港人的至愛,每每午飯或晚餐一定車水馬龍,今天午餐雖等了半小時,但是這是值得的,美食是需要等待。午餐肉是厚切,雖沒有煎香,但入口鬆化,難得。脂肪適中,肉味一般,不太鹹,肉質結實有彈性,肉味清香,脂肪不太多,食落不油膩。雞蛋是混合牛奶去炒,呈金黃色,富蛋香和滑滑的,食落有偏腍巴巴,像槮了許多澱粉質。麵底是出新一丁公仔麵,熱騰騰的,店員沒有煮得太熟透,當中應該有過冷河,麵條仍保持其彈性,吸了富味道的湯汁,十分滋味。我覺得滑蛋,午餐肉和午餐肉永遠是最佳組合。午餐肉與滑蛋一齊放入口中,吃來爽身不太膩。最突出是肉味,食落有彈性,不會腍巴巴,蛋與午餐肉餐融合在一起,感覺幸福。這一餐午餐十分滿足!
