To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 數天前提早慶祝母親節,正日當天還是回家陪媽子吃飯,臨時決定去牛角。雖然出門前已經遙距取票,可是叫號一直沒轉變,其他食店門前也是人頭湧湧,個多小時後才能入坐。今晚點菜款式比往常多,包括豬、牛、雞、魚、小食和果汁,非常豐富: 三味牛肋肉(積分換)、壺漬牛肋肉$98、厚切熊本豚腩肉$69、丹麥皇冠豚扒$55、豚肉燒伴泡菜$55、芝士雞腿肉$56、啤酒腸$59石斑魚柳$49、味醂雞泡魚乾$59、黑糖牛油蕃薯$49、西柚汁$25、西瓜汁$25除了必點菜式之外,第一次點的項目有:壺漬牛肋肉、啤酒腸、味醂雞泡魚乾、西柚汁、西瓜汁。壺漬牛肋肉放在小陶壺內,伴有洋蔥片在內,味道與其他牛肋肉無甚分別,而口感較有嚼頭,肉味較濃,不錯吃。啤酒腸有微微啤酒香,口感軟中帶爽,不會太咸,味道不錯。味醂雞泡魚乾放在網上輕炙,顏色逐漸變金黃便可以離火了,是很好的下酒小吃。西柚汁和西瓜汁是預製飲品,新鮮解渴,味道不錯。烤肉是一種藝術,店方能控制的部分是肉的質量和調味,質量再好也因應客人烤的時間、技巧而影響食味。
