Trying out The Moonious for the first time! This Chinese restaurant serves a range of creative and innovative dishes that not only look good on camera but taste absolutely amazing! It’s also conveniently located at East Tsim Sha Tsui, so go try it out! 🥢 Pic 1️⃣: 冰鎮黑豚咕嚕肉 / Sweet & Sour Pork on Ice - $178 hkd 🐷 — Would you look at that 😮 I was super impressed by how this was presented, it definitely gets a lot of attention from diners whenever it’s brought out. Pic 1️⃣: 冰鎮黑豚咕嚕肉 / Sweet & Sour Pork on Ice - $178 hkd 🐷
— Would you look at that 😮 I was super impressed by how this was presented, it definitely gets a lot of attention from diners whenever it’s brought out. The pork was evenly coated with a thin batter and deep fried to a crispy finish. The sauce had a nice balance of sweetness and sourness to it and coated the pork really nicely.
Pic 2️⃣: 運程流沙包 / Fortune Lava Buns - $38 hkd
— How cute are these! These lava buns were really tasty with a runny custard filling that’s not overly sweet. The buns were also super soft and served nice and hot to your table.
Pic 3️⃣: Mozzarella 海鮮酥 / Deep-fried Seafood Puffs with Mozzarella - $58 hkd 🧀
— This reminded me of a seafood puff pastry and really loved the flavours in this! The seafood filling was well seasoned and had a nice creamy consistency. It’s generously filled with mozzarella cheese for that extra flavour and richness.
Pic 4️⃣: 避風塘蘿蔔糕 / Pan-Fried Turnip Cakes with Spicy Garlic - $48 hkd
— Super flavourful dish that definitely has a kick to it. The spicy garlic really brings the dish together and goes nicely with turnip cake.
Pic 5️⃣: 蟹鉗巨無霸 / Deep-fried Giant Crab Claws - $78 hkd 🦀
— Deep fried to perfection, this giant crab claw really took me by surprise! When you cut into it, it oozes with this delicious sweet and sour plum sauce which went really well with the crab meat. Also loved the springy texture of the crab meat.
Pic 6️⃣: 金湯松露餃 / Steamed Truffle Dumplings in Chicken and Carrot Broth - $48 hkd 🥟
— These dumplings were thinly wrapped and stuffed with an aromatic blend of crunchy vegetables with truffle. Definitely a lighter dim sum option but super decent nonetheless.
Pic 7️⃣: 流心鵪鶉蛋燒賣 / Steamed Lava Siu Mai with Quail Eggs - $48 hkd 🪺
— You rarely see restaurants serve quails eggs siu mai nowadays simply because of how difficult they are to make, so we had to order them for the nostalgic value! Was really impressed at how runny the yolk of the quails egg was even after steaming. Thought this could’ve done with a bit more flavour as the siu mai was a bit bland.
Pic 8️⃣: 小館獅子頭 / Signature Lion’s Head Meatball - $68 hkd
— Perfect portion size for those who love this dish but don’t want to have too much of it 😂 The meat was nicely seasoned and cooked in a very flavourful sauce.
