To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 久未上翠華食飯,但是它在我心目中仍是香港茶餐廳的代表,那杯奶茶仍是記憶中的牽掛。今早去機場,順便重溫舊夢,不料大失所望。翠華已經從港式茶餐廳的佼佼者,淪落為一部快餐傳送帶。早上八點多上到翠華機場店,惦念著它那玲琅滿目的早餐menu,怎知除了黑松露炒蛋等幾款外,menu上的菜品都要十一點後才供應。勉強叫了一份,食品質量完全不知所謂。服務員推著車子送菜,車上放著一大批同款菜品,送往不同的餐檯,完全是傳送帶形象。菜品也就算了,服務更佳離譜。餐廳裡有不少員工,不是送菜的就是收碗的,唯獨找不到為你服務的。舉起手來,每一位員工都自然地將視線移開,無人理睬你。知道翠華上市後面臨盈利壓力和客戶流失。它又成功地將一位客戶趕走了。
