To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 自從美國白金咭優惠縮小左之後,都已經有一段時間冇呢一間酒樓食飯,佢以前一直都好好,我哋差唔多每個星期就去食,今日夜晚走去食飯,六點鐘入去,個場唔係好多人,我哋比安排喺最角落頭嘅四人枱,可能見我哋有小朋友,想我哋坐埋一角角落唔好騷擾到其他人,不過我哋點餐嘅時候舉手舉左好耐,不停嗌人都冇人理我地。我哋有小朋友,所以唔係叫好多嘢食,我哋叫咗個薑蔥叉燒撈麵,一個例湯,一客蒸班頭腩。上菜嘅時候,有個侍應分緊湯,個傳菜亞姨就咁大叫我用手接住碟撈麵,真是好地道大牌檔風味好有人情味,我爭啲要流着行眼淚多謝佢畀我有份參與的機會,侍客合一的境界。回過神看一看個撈麵,和網購的感覺一樣,照片只可作參考,它跟照片相似度有百分之十,就是有麵,叉燒碎碎的已經看不出來,被滿滿的鼓油湯蓋過。吃一口,嘴裡只有濃濃醬油及薑味,忽然很想到九龍城粉麵檔走一轉,那𥚃才知道甚麼是正宗薑蔥撈麵,就是讓客人自己撈,和照片上的一樣,多薑少薑自己話事,忽然又想起電視上的廣告「等等,要同唔要,由我話事」。到蒸頭腩上枱的時候,味道算是可以,只是魚塊可能放了很久很久很久很久很鯹,仔女吐了出來,因為未打好鱗,還有很多鱗片跟在一起。
