To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 原本對面有間"食燒味,燒鵝"專門店,我跟前同事心在想在荃灣有那麼多間燒味店,不一定要那間"食燒味燒鵝",一來佢再加價,二來伙計態度有待改善,今次試下太興啦,因為新開了到現場也沒有光顧。入到門口好快便有位,例牌的四人卡座,我同事點選了叉燒飯(還可以選擇肥叉跟肥瘦叉),其實我是不太喜歡食燒鵝燒鴨的人,但一場來到我見到有燒鵝脾飯(免切),當然要試一下先啦,(但我改了切開一件件,如果我一個人一定要乙切啦,因為不用那麼斯文食飯)來到真係有驚喜,入口比我想像中好,但切到皮跟肉都分開曬...跟餐配菜,中規中矩。餐茶飲凍奶茶,美味的一餐。比起以前在屯門那間食到一肚子火,今次我對太興改觀了。(可能都係個句啦, 連鎖店食物質素是好, 不好的是員工吧...)
