To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 如果晚上想和長輩們吃中菜,沙田娛樂城4樓的富臨漁港囍臨門酒家的小菜質素頗高。今次點了128元的金銀菜燉白肺,五至六人飲也十分足夠。盛湯的大盅子有著滿滿的湯料,侍應先會把湯渣撈起放在一個盤子上,白肺點少許豉油來吃,味道也頗不錯的。湯的顏色清澈但味道濃厚,能喝到菜乾、白肺、瘦肉、南北杏等的味道融合在一起。而且用膳過後不覺得頸渴,可見湯沒有加任何味精。生煎菜肉包也是性價比頗高的一款小吃,包的表面煎成金黃色,十分吸引。包煎得十分香口,外面有少許脆、中間軟熟,裡面的肉餡也頗飽滿。鐵板黑椒德國豬手也是頗有驚喜的一道菜,豬手的尺寸十分大,而且侍應會奉上刀叉,吃得更方便。豬手烹煮的時間夠長,所以肉質軟滑,骨膠原充足。而且黑椒燒汁的味道鹹鹹香香,如果汁的份量更多便好了。
