To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 翠華曾經是我喜愛的茶餐廳, 但自從上市之後, 食物及服務水準每況愈下(很多人都有這感覺), 已經無幫襯一排了。 昨晚途經尚德邨翠華門口, 又想唔到食乜, 想起最近佢地搵咗個新代言人宣傳, 心諗食物質素又會否因而有所改善提升, 回復以往未上巿前水準, 於是入內姑且再試, 已經不存厚望, 但怎知還是中伏。  晚餐點了2 款食物 : 1. 海南雞飯 : 那碟雞好似剛從雪櫃拿出來, 冰冰凍凍, 更被一層雪凍的厚油包著, 那碗油飯更離譜, 除咗凍之外, 更乾乾硬硬, 好似隔夜冷飯一樣 !2. 忌廉粟米豬扒飯 : 豬扒冇味, 乾到好似柴皮一樣, 仲要係變壞“酸”咗, 更經典係當晚跟飯的配菜竟然是“咖喱蘿蔔”, 試想像咖喱蘿蔔放在忌廉粟米汁內的味道是什麼味道, 感覺就好似㕑房剩什麼就給你吃什麼, 簡直不知所謂, 九唔搭八 !最後, 當然取消了那個“忌廉粟米汁溝咖喱蘿蔔配酸豬扒飯”。以這樣的價錢換來這樣低劣質素的食物, 為免再次中伏, 幫襯前都要諗清楚 !
