I am not a vegetarian, but every once in a while I like to skip meat. There are not many vegetarian places in Kowloon Bay and they certainly do not offer the same kind of space and comfort that Tishifang Tea House does. Located near MegaBox, Tishifang offers daily lunch sets as well as regular food items and teas. Indonesian fried-rice (fixed item) is one of my favourites.
Last week, I tried the BBQ Pork with rice special. To accompany the dish I chose a Salad with vinegar, which was not a good match with the rest of the food – Chinese soup and Chinese dish.
The BBQ pork imitation sat on top a bed of white rice and was covered in darkish sweet sauce. The imitation food had the appearance of duck meat. There was one large piece, when cut open, that did look like pork. It had three layers; one of which looked like animal fat. The food was not bad, but I did find the sauce too sweet.
If you like healthy food, friendly service and roomy restaurant, then this is the place for you.
