Coming back today with also my wife, my brother and mother, the setting was still largely the same as my memories then. We ordered the signature dishes, starting with the Minced Pigeon in Lettuce Wrap. It is tasty, with the portion big for generally 6 people. The pigeon meat is tender and there are also crunchy pieces (is it water chestnut?) which add to the texture. Wrapped in lettuce brings down the fattiness and the seafood paste further adding the sweetness to the dish.

Then we have the Prawn on Toast. Again in a big portion, with eight large pieces in total. The prawn are seasoned nicely, and the toast was not too oily as well. Freshly fried it is certainly crunchy to the bite. However, after a while the toast becomes a bit chewy and no longer crunchy, and I believe the deep-fried process may not have worked properly. This dish is a bit inferior to what I recall the restaurant can offer.

The third dish is another signature, the Deep-fried Chicken. The skin of the chicken was crispy, and there is no fat layer underneath which for the health conscious it is good news. As expected the chicken flesh would not be too tender due to the cooking method, but it has good marination and even without dipping in the garlic salt and Worcestershire sauce it is still nice for me.

Last we have the Mixed Vegetable and Vermicelli in Clay Pot. A standard dish for all restaurants, again this would be a good test to the chef's skills. This dish overall is a bit mediocre and the taste is also quite bland. Not a dish I would recommend unfortunately, and maybe if the restaurant added more dried seafood it would enhance the flavors much more.

The service is acceptable, of the traditional restaurant standards, and with three bowls of rice the total bill was $690. Quite a reasonably priced dinner, and even though there are some good and not so good dishes overall it is still of good value for money.

My overall rating is 65/100.
