Tucked away down the quieter streets of Central and Wan Chai, both branches of @chottomakihk have been around for some time now, so that definitely says something about their westernized take on the Japanese comfort food (especially considering Hong Kong’s ever-changing restaurant scene). - Philadelphia: My absolute favorite. The smooth cream cheese is the real MVP and you can never go wrong with salmon, avocado and mayo sauce. You might need to take a bite of the side pickles once in a while to counter the heaviness though.

- Mango Dynamite: A refreshing pairing of mango and cucumber to balance the fried tempura prawn. Loved how the unagi (eel) sauce adds an extra splash of sweet umami.

- Cali Salmon: I usually only like my salmon raw, so the deep fried salmon in this roll was surprisingly scrumptious. Perhaps it was the fact that it was topped with crab sticks and roasted sesame.
[Signature rolls]
Not a huge fan of these humongous pieces of 4 as we can never eat it elegantly, but we’re always amazed by how they can stuff so many ingredients while still keeping the whole thing intact.
- Beef-iyaki: A delectable mix of teriyaki beef, cucumber, avocado, tobiko (flying fish roe), tofu skin, crunchy garlic chips and their house special sauce.
