Reason for visiting:My sister and I were in Central and we needed something quick, and I've been wanting to try Hero Sandwich for some time. Environment & Hygiene:3 Things made the environment not too pleasant. First, there was some renovation happening inside when we got there, so it felt kinda stuffy in there. Second, there was barely any air-con, and because of the renovation, the air really wasn't circulating. It felt cooler on the streets. Third, I think it was the washroom that they were

3 Things made the environment not too pleasant. First, there was some renovation happening inside when we got there, so it felt kinda stuffy in there. Second, there was barely any air-con, and because of the renovation, the air really wasn't circulating. It felt cooler on the streets. Third, I think it was the washroom that they were renovating, so there wasn't a place for me to wash up before and after eating. Actually, I don't even know why I stayed because there was probably a lot of extra dust created from the renovation and the napkins and utensil were just placed on the counter uncovered.
Service:
It's a fast food style restaurant, so service was minimal. I personally think that the staff could have looked happier though.
Taste & Value:
I opted for the Beef Pastrami Combo with fries ($59) and my sister got the Chicken Caesar Combo with fries ($51). A combo comes with your choice of a salad or fries + tea/coffee. On the menu, every sandwich had lettuce and tomatoes in the picture, but
they were missing from my sandwich. It just had a melted slice of cheese on the beef. I didn't notice that until I was almost done. Ha. The sandwich was good, the meat reminded me of Montreal Smoked meat, as the beef was qutie soft and tender, although a bit salty. I must say the toasted bun was my favourite though. The thick-cut fries too were good, as they really were made to order. I chose an Iced coffee for my drink, but it was soso. A little too much sweetner. I'm not sure how my sister's Iced Green tea was. My sister offered me a bite of her chicken caesar. It was made with chicken chunks and a right amount of dressing. It was good, but nothing too special. I've never been too fond of anything with too much dressing, as it it hard to tell how fresh everything is. We were both really full afterwards, so a combo for $50-60 is acceptable I think.
Final Verdict:
I liked the food, but I have to give it lower ratings because of the environment. I'm still interested in trying the prime rib sandwich.
