I remembered the first few years Mortys opened in HK, their onion soup was good - gooey slightly burnt gruyere/ emmental cheese on top of a decent onion soup (burnt in a good way). I had ordered it a year ago and the gruyere or emmental cheese which is the standard and pairs with onion soup the best. The cheese we barely baked at all. I thought it was a one off situation.

I decided to give it a try again today and asked them to bake longer to burn the cheese. To my disappointment the cheese is cheddar now! And so thin. They must have changed the cheese to cut cost.

Their sandwiches are still good however and i you can even pick a new option of daily soup instead of fries or salad now.
