This has to be the biggest disappointment comparing to any Italian restaurant I have been to. A few of us went there tonight for dinner and honestly with their price and reputation of the Italian Club in Central, we were expecting some good food. Let's point out the things that were on point first:1. The bruschetta (appetiser) was quite fresh and acidic which really opens up your appetite. 2. The service was good and the waitress was helpful suggesting what to order. 3. Parma Ham pizza was above
A few of us went there tonight for dinner and honestly with their price and reputation of the Italian Club in Central, we were expecting some good food.
Let's point out the things that were on point first:
1. The bruschetta (appetiser) was quite fresh and acidic which really opens up your appetite.
2. The service was good and the waitress was helpful suggesting what to order.
3. Parma Ham pizza was above average. The cheese and ham ratio was balance.
4. Seating was comfortable.
Now we have mentioned the goods, let's dive into the things that disappoint us:
1. The carbonara was too heavily seasoned (too salty). The pasta was cooked al dente but it was just too salty to eat more.
2. The salad was only lightly dressed with vinegar so it was very bland. Not sure whether it was on purpose so you can add more balsamic vinegar by yourself or not.
3. The Tajarin has to be the worst pasta in my opinion. It was a bit over cooked and the plating was not appetising. It also looked and tasted like it is a pasta dish using Chinese noodles(粗面). Sauce was overwhelming so you couldn't taste the freshness of the tajarin.
4. For the Margherita pizza, although the dough was decent, the tomato sauce tasted like canned product and had a fairly similar taste as the USD$5 dominos pizza.
5. A restaurant filled with bottles of alcohol, yet the alcohol license was expired so you could only order soft drinks.
Overall, it was a pretty dreadful experience. There are definitely a lot to be improved.
