twenty something of us went to this upstairs cafe for a social gathering last sunday evening. we did not include the whole cafe but instead occupied a corner of it. the environment was cosy, although not very spacious, but comfortable. we ordered a party set good enough for twenty something people, with one regular drink included. we can also pay ten more dollars to convert that into a special drink which has far fancier names like 'bikini' and etc.

the salads first came. we had a big plate of caesar salad and two bowls of tuna salad: the caesar salad was nicely tossed with the lettuces chopped into one-bite size, convenient for eating. The dressing tasted good although it could be stronger; the croutons were crispy enough and the cheese was lovely. However the salad was lukewarm; it could hv been colder, for safety's sake.

In comparsion the tuna salad was just so-so. using ordinary mayonnaise, it was just okay, something u'd get in ordinary cafes.but its good enough given that its free of charge.

next we have baked cheesy garlic french baguettes. it was pipping hot, fresh off the oven, and it was indeed nice. the cheese topped was half-melted and the toast was crispy. However i personally think strong cheeses could be used to replace the slice cheddar to give it a richer flavour. but the crushed garlic was tasty.

next came the baked french fries topped with sour cream. it was alright, the fries used was not the crispy type but more mushy. The gravy and sour cream topped was alright, but it could be lighter in flavour-it was a lil too salty.

We had three pizzas: the pizza base was unique because filo was used instead of the normal bread dough, therefore giving it a crispy and buttery texture. It was not too oily however, which was good: the toppings then did not matter. Peppers and pepperoni were used and it could not be bad in taste.

The baked assorted mushrooms was lovely. Being a fan of butter, garlic and mushrooms, it was just my cup of tea!

The baked sausages with honey was sweet and tasty. it was pipping hot, juicy and tender- good!

I did not personally taste the pastas and chicken wings but they look tempting and tasty.

as for the drinks i ordered a 比堅尼, consisting of mango and yogurt. it was healthy and lovely.

the waiters and bosses were nice and friendly, serving quickly with gusto. They even granted us free membership. We paid $130 for the whole package. It was a bargin, given the high quality of food, the cosy environment and lovely toys and games in the café. I will definitely come again!
