We'd heard good things about the Tapa Room in CWB, but we wanted to avoid the corona virus so we decided to travel to the Kwun Tong one instead. Whilst it was definitely much more remote, it made us feel much safer dining out!

We ordered: Octopus Carpaccio ($78), Foie Gras Lollipop ($78), Tortilla de Patata ($78), Grilled Red Prawns ($88), Seafood Paella ($188), and 2 gin and tonic drinks ($108 each). The cold tapas were good and the octopus carpaccio packed a punch with the smoked spices in the sauce. The foie gras was more similar to a pate texture, topped with a coat of roasted pistachio nuts. It was our first time having a  tortilla de Patata, but we loved it so much! The cheese and potato were aromatic, and cut through the pastry so softly. Perfect hot tapas to go with drinks!

The red prawns were very aromatic and very strong to the taste, and the garlic was not overpowering, and with the fried herb leaves, every part of the prawn was well seasoned, even though shell. It was such a delight to eat and the texture was bouncy but firm enough where there was a  crisp with every bite. However, it was definitely much more tedious to eat with out finger compared to the tortilla!

It was very interesting to compare the way the hot tapa shrimps were prepared in comparison to the ones in the seafood paella! The shrimps and seafood in the paella were much more mild, and the flavoured came more from the shrimp than the sauces. It was fresh and tangy to the taste, but both were just as great. The paella had to be our favourite dish with the amazing shrimps and rice. The acidity of the lemon juice balanced out the tomato rice and left you feeling warm and full without feeling greasy.

Overall, really good Spanish food for its price, and would definitely come here again!
PS: they were giving out FREE MASKS for guests! They also had alcohol wet wipes if you needed them before/eating prawns! ^_^
