Hidden between two small streets, Empress café can be easily found with a glass store-front and well lit interior. An easy-pull is right at the corner of the alley to make you aware of the café. Its interior is simple but nice, furnished with wooden tables and French-style wrought iron chairs. The owners, Samson and Kitty, are in fact a couple who have stayed in Vancouver for some time; one worked on IT and another on design. They incorporated design elements and shared design books on the books
Food and coffee are reasonably priced – I will say it is rather cheap. Various kinds of coffee are ranged at $32 to $43. Food includes soup, salad, pasta, all-day breakfast with 7 choices of included items.

The portion of all-day breakfast and waffle sandwich is very satisfactory. They are cooked upon ordering but I just waited for 5mins for the food to be served. BLT Waffle sandwich surprises me as I never tried waffle served this way (not as a dessert).
I want a second visit trying the blueberry risotto and floral tea (English Breakfast, Jasmine, Mint, Rose Puer, Oolong, Rice Sencha).
