XO and I both like oysters, and he can drink the wine, so I told him to meet up with me in LKF!

Glow is on a side street away from the center of Lan Kwai Fong, so it's not in the middle of the bar crowd.  Their menu is readily available for view in front of the restaurant.  From the store front, you can see Glow actually stands for: Grill, Lounge, Ocean, and Wine.

Grill: the restaurant serves Korean beef, but XO and I decided to stick with the three other letters of Glow for the night.

Lounge: the seating in Glow is sort of a lounge style, where there's cushioned-sofa style seating along the wall.

The server actually showed us how to identify the gillardeau oyster, where the letter G is stamped on the shell!

After getting seated, I ordered a cocktail, while XO took advantage of the oyster promotion.  Since the oysters only came with one glass of wine, XO ordered another bottle of bubbles as well.

There was a "say no to straws" sign on the table, so my cocktail didn't come with a straw either!

Deep Under Sea--Rum, Melon Liquer, Watermelon Juice (HH $58): The cocktail was very refreshing with the cooling watermelon burst!  The alcohol flavor was not very prominent, as the fruitiness of the watermelon juice and melon liqueur masks the rum flavor.  This was a very summery drink!

Out of the oyster options, I decided to order by location, so we ordered 2 each of Pacific, Scottish Rock, and Roumegous.

They were served with various condiments, but the oysters were so fresh that the condiments were not necessary!

Pacific ($45): The American oyster had a light flavor, and it was very plump and had a crunchy bite.

Scottish Rock ($50): The Scot was a little skinnier than the American but had a stronger flavor profile.  The water in the shell had a light salinity that was not overwhelming.

Roumegous ($55): As soon as the French oyster hit my mouth, I could taste the prominent ocean-like flavor.  The oyster flesh  had a luscious bite which was a contrast to the crisp texture of the other two oysters.

Avocado and Shrimp Tartar ($88): The avocado and shrimp mixture was served with tortilla chips.  The tortilla chips were a little thicker than I'd like, but it's hard to find various types of tortilla chips in Hong Kong.

The avocado and shrimp mixture was seasoned brightly with a citrus burst.  It was like a chopped up ceviche served on crunchy chips, and the avocado pieces were ripe but not overly mushy!

The white truffle mayo had a strong earthy truffle flavor and added a level of indulgence to the ordinary French fry!

The scallops were cooked to the ideal doneness, where they were plump and translucent in the middle!  I can't stop raving about this pasta dish; it's an impeccable combination of succulent scallops, al dente pasta, and silky flavorful sauce!
If it wasn't for the eye-catching promotional signs in front of Glow Oyster Bar & Grill, I would have definitely missed out on some of the freshest oysters, delicious tapas, and the most amazing scallops pasta!  I can't wait to go back to Glow and sink my teeth into the terrific food again!
