Liquid nitrogen ice-cream has been available in Hong Kong for quite a while, yet I've never got a good time to try it out. Finally, enticed by the colourful poster right at the entrance of Tuttimelon in The ONE this afternoon, I really cannot resist anymore! So my friend and I ordered a liquid nitrogen ice-cream (flavour: straberry), which cost HK$38 and includes two scoops of ice-cream. The ice-cream is made only when an order is placed, so it is undoubtly very fresh. We already had so much fun
So my friend and I ordered a liquid nitrogen ice-cream (flavour: straberry), which cost HK$38 and includes two scoops of ice-cream. The ice-cream is made only when an order is placed, so it is undoubtly very fresh. We already had so much fun simply looking at the whole ice-cream making process! And by the way, you need to wait for 8-10mins because it is freshly made.
Liquid nitrogen ice-cream is famous for its smooth texture as it is frozen at a very low temperature right away, instead of a gradual temperature drop which leads to the formation of tiny ice crystal. And the ice-cream from Tutti was actually quite nice. I've to say it might not be a good choice for people who are looking for the creamy texture, but it'll be wonderful for those for enjoy a light and soft one. Because normally when the texture of the ice-cream is soft like when it's melting, it doesn't taste that cool anymore. Thus, it is quite surprising and nice to have an ice-cream which taste so light and cool at the same time! I guess that is where liquid nitrogen ice-cream make the difference.
