To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. 呢日係荃灣做野，順便去荃新天地食個lunch 先返屋企。一入到商場見到呢間牛角唔洗等位就入咗去啦！入面都算多位所以唔洗點等位，大部分位都係卡位，呢樣幾好。佢中午時間有lunch set menu，有燒肉亦有飯餐。今次我就要咗個泡菜牛肉鍋飯餐。一個餐包沙律、昆布湯、主食同埋野飲。佢個飯啲牛肉唔係好多，只有一小堆肉碎，不過其實蔬菜等等都好足。沙律菜亦好新鮮，而個昆布沙就比較清，不過個飯夠濃味，所以個湯清清地都okay 。
