My dad loves to come to this Jap restaurant because it's very near his place, hence I come here quite often (it's in the heart of Tsuen Wan right above from the mini van station) It's quite a large place with lots of customers going in and out, and the atmosphere is quite dynamic and upbeat. But first of, I must mention that their service isn't the greatest in the world. It takes forever for their servers to get you anything, from a glass of water, extra wasabi, to the bill, they always forget or just generously take their time.
There prices are medium range and you can get a filling lunch for around $50-$60. There's a wide range of dishes to choose from and I their hot dishes (compared to their sashimi or sushi) would be the choice to go.
These sushi came with our meal. It was okay
My dad ordered these and the server said we could get them 50% off when we ordered our meal. However, the server made a mistake with our order and said they charged it full price. I told them to change it, but they said it was unchangeable in the computer system. I was slightly upset, but let it go because my dad wanted to order more sushi--so at the end, he ordered another set for 50% off
These fried oysters were okay, albeit the strange appearance and design of the plating.
This fried pork with curry on rice was the best dish out of the whole meal. The pork chop was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the curry was rich and flavourful. Most of all, the portion was humongous and my dad couldn't even finish it.
I ordered the fried pork chop with egg on rice and I liked it. Again, the pork chop was quite juicy and this meal came with my favourite miso soup.
My friend orderd the grilled chicken ramen which I thought wasn't the best. To be fair, the soup base had alot of flavor and pretty creamy (I think it was msg tho), but the grilled chicken was terrible. The chicken was basically black pepper seasoned chicken--no other flavour. So all in all, the location is the only reason I come back (well, there's also my dad) but if I had a choice, I would probably try something else.
