Menu is in Chinese only but there are photos of the food. If you have been to the Animate Cafe (or now called Youme Cafe) out in Tsuen Wan, this is the same conceptual menu as it's also run by Satay King.

Pikachu Rice ($78). Yes ... you are eating Pikachu's face. It also came with some salad and it really did look like the yellow guy.

Rice came with a choice of three sauces: blue curry, green spinach and red tomato sauce. Originally I was going to choose the blue curry but the waiter hesitated when I ordered until she told me "um...I suggest spinach and tomato are better choices." I guess it was her way of warning me not to choose the blue curry without getting in trouble from her superiors. So, I ended up choosing tomato sauce which tasted exactly that. Tomato sauce.

The rice was super dry and flavorless. Especially the black colored ears part. You really do need to sauce to plow through this huge pile of rice. And there was a lot of rice. I really couldn't finish it as there was so much rice. The mound of rice was also filled with pork chop which was also dry. Pikachu's eyes and mouth were what I guess is nori? I have no idea. It tasted like paper. But it was edible so I don't know what I put in my mouth.

For every main ordered, you get a memo pad of a Pikachu character. Character is by lucky draw. You cannot choose what you get.

Passionfruit Smoothie ($38). This came with a HUGE amount of whipped cream. I think there was more whipped cream to smoothie so at the end, I was sucking on whipped cream. That is digusting to me. The smoothie tasted like sugar syrup with no fruit flavor of any kind. There was some jelly nibs mixed in as well. It was topped off with a hard candy shaped like Pikachu's face. The candy was super hard and at first I thought it was a jelly candy and almost broke my tooth on it when I went to bite into it. The candy was flavorless. Not sweet. Just one hard yellow rock.

For every drink ordered, you get a coaster of a Pikachu character. Just like the memo pad, it's luck of the draw.

On the day, I went, Pikachu came out for photo taking. There was  huge queue of his adoring fans. Apparently, he comes out on scheduled times.

Overall, the food was pretty bad. Usually Satay King is ok. Not great food. But the items presented were pretty horrible tasting. I went to their anime cross over cafe and it was similar to this one. It gives enough for the fans in terms of gifts and souvenier items along with theme typed food. But the food was pretty bad. Fun to have Pikachu come out, though. I think that was a great highlight. So, if you're a Pikachu fan, definitely go. If you aren't ... skip it. And that's why I give this review an ok.
