after seeing the foie gras set menu advertise in a magazine
the original foie gras set menu is $228
but it was on promotion for $188
the week before we went i bought the same magazine...and it had a further 20% off and another voucher for 6 oysters bottle of white for $100
ok when we got there, the theme was all so romantic... probably cos they're preparing for valentines day?
there was a guy playing guitare and singing for all the diners....
as we got there before 8pm, cocktails was happy hour...we decided to order two drinks each, we also asked if we could use both vouchers and the waiter said yes!!
excellent!!!
the oysters was very fresh and was served with lemon and tabasco sauce....
the foie gras set menu's catch is... every person has to order it... which we didn't mind as thats what we went there for!!!
first course... parma ham toast and salmon toast... the salmon toast was good, salad was VERY bland and the parma ham toast... well it'd make common sense to have butter on it as the toast was bone dry
lobster soup... very very disappointing!!! it tasted like a pink mushroom soup!!!
main course, fillet steak with foie gras veg and pasta... the pasta was cold!!!! the veg was al dente, the steak was perfect i had mine 50% as for the foie gras OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this was definately the highlight!!!! it was like butter...melt in your mouth and it was of a decent size as well considering how much the set menu was!!!
then the dessert... chocolate volcano... we call it a fondant here in uk!!!
i don't do desserts... and after what we had to eat i wasn't that bothered... however when it came out... my god i was bothered
it was gooooooooddddddddddddddddddddd
so good we was so tempted to order a second round!!!
with the voucher, oysters, 2 cocktails, tea or coffee and a bottle of white bill was $270
it's worth going for the foie gras and the dessert, the starter and soup was crap!!!
however i forgive you and i would go back again!!!
