I have always wanted to try Water Gate Chicken from Thailand. They now have two branches in Hong Kong so went to the TST one as Taipo is damn far.Ideally, you should go to Taipo because the prices are cheaper according to someones review.I was captivated by the piece of blood jelly that you get with the chicken and the fact they serve fried chicken as no other Thai joint in HK has it.Ordered the combo which had everything, ie the giblets, fried chicken and the poached chicken. The soup and sauces

Ideally, you should go to Taipo because the prices are cheaper according to someones review. I was captivated by the piece of blood jelly that you get with the chicken and the fact they serve fried chicken as no other Thai joint in HK has it.
Ordered the combo which had everything, ie the giblets, fried chicken and the poached chicken.
The soup and sauces arrived first and then there was a few minute gap before the main came.
Rice:
Too clumpy and soft, the clumpy rice was hidden beneath. Fried Chicken:
Only got 3 pieces compared to other pictures showing four.
In terms of taste, it was really good as the chicken was moist but there was as slight oily aroma to it. Chicken Giblets:
Was only given one piece of bloody jelly compared to 2 other photos. (Kimmicheuk ).
The chicken liver was an utter disappointment as it wasn't fresh.
Freshly cooked chicken liver should have some yellowish colour to it but it was just grey and tasteless without the sauce.
If you have had fresh chicken liver before you should know what it tastes like and it should be tasty on its own.
Poached chicken:
The poached chicken was really good, it was lean and silky.
No red bits of veins included.
I didn't really need the sauces as the chicken was tasty but tried the sauces anyway and they were sweet and spicy.
The sauce I liked the most was the yellow chili vinegar. Cutlery:
