Rain was very heavy on Sunday and looking for a place for lunch which can drive in with shelter... Times Square was quite sure to have a long queue for parking.. Picked Hopewell Center to park and tried the restaurant there.. Still, there was also a queue for parking which took us 15 mins to wait for a parking space. Parking offer is spending $300 to have 6 hours free parking.Went over to QRE Plaza and checked the directory and finally picked this restaurant which offered a AYCE brunch buffet
Went over to QRE Plaza and checked the directory and finally picked this restaurant which offered a AYCE brunch buffet with instant-open oysters...
When we went in there, already found that a queue with 8 customers lining up there. A bit hesitate if we should stay... Eventually, we stayed and ordered a Argentina tenderloin as the main course with appetizer and sweet buffet.
We wanted to start with oyster as our appetizer. However, it took us to wait for 20-25 mins to get one round of oysters (3-4 pcs). When we were waiting in the mid of the line, the main course had been delivered to our table and just left it there.... We decide not to waiting the oyster and went back for the main course first before getting cool... Surprisingly, the beef was quite tender, my first time to have Argentina beef..
Then we went again to line up to have the oysters... a junior chef was serving it, she was quite slow motion, but still she cleaning the oyster quite carefully with a small brush. After a while, a waitress took over her position to serve the oyster, she opened the oyster and sunk the whole oyster into the bowl of ice water for washing rather using the small brush to clean the small rocks. Her action was really scared me that the dirt on the oyster shell was also sunk into the ice water...
Coincidentally, my friend got the diarrhoea that night... So, just to alert the others if you going there, please be mindful how they handle the oysters and be patient to wait...
